About

Border Check is a fully local, hand-curated reference for the documents and checks travelers commonly encounter crossing an international border. document_checklist gives a general checklist for a trip purpose (tourism, business, transit) and mode (air, land, sea). passport_validity_rule explains the widely-applied 'six months beyond your stay' passport-validity norm and how it differs from the shorter 3-month norm many destinations use; region_validity_lookup checks a country/region name against curated illustrative examples (returning 'unlisted' rather than guessing for anything not in the list). proof_of_onward_travel covers accepted forms and when it matters. customs_declaration_basics covers general declaration categories and the duty-free-allowance concept. currency_declaration_norm gives the common ~US $10,000-equivalent cash-declaration threshold, verified against official US CBP, Canadian CBSA and EU guidance. land_border_checklist adds land-crossing-specific items. document_glossary defines border/travel-document terms. pretrip_summary combines everything for one trip. Keyless; fully local; zero upstream calls; nothing stored.

Sources: Passport-validity norm and currency-declaration thresholds verified via web search against current (2026) CBP, CBSA and EU official/consular guidance and multiple current travel-document explainers; document checklists and customs categories hand-curated from widely-published general practice. Fully local; zero upstream calls at request time.

What Border Check is for

"Does my passport really need 6 months left on it?", "what counts as proof of onward travel?", "how much cash can I carry before I have to declare it?" — a general, web-verified reference for the documents and checks travelers commonly encounter crossing an international border, so you can prepare before you fly rather than find out at check-in.

What it does

document_checklist gives a general checklist for a trip purpose (tourism, business, transit) and mode (air, land, sea). passport_validity_rule explains the widely-applied "six months beyond your stay" passport-validity norm — what it means, why it exists, and how it differs from the shorter three-month norm many destinations use — plus the separate blank-pages requirement. region_validity_lookup checks a country or region name against a curated set of illustrative examples of which norm commonly applies, returning "unlisted" rather than inventing an answer for anywhere not in that list. proof_of_onward_travel covers accepted forms of onward-travel proof and when it matters most. customs_declaration_basics covers general declaration categories and the duty-free-allowance concept. currency_declaration_norm gives the common ~US $10,000-equivalent cash/monetary-instrument declaration threshold, verified against official US CBP, Canadian CBSA and EU guidance. land_border_checklist adds items specific to land crossings — vehicle documents, temporary import permits, insurance. document_glossary defines terms like visa, eTA, and transit visa. pretrip_summary combines everything into one checklist for a stated trip.

What it is not

Border Check is general, educational information, not legal advice, and not a substitute for checking your destination's (and any transit country's) current official entry requirements before you travel. Passport-validity and currency-declaration norms are illustrated with verified, dated examples, not an exhaustive or guaranteed-current list — rules vary by nationality and change over time, so always confirm with an official government or embassy source close to your travel date.

Privacy policy

Border Check — Privacy Policy

Effective 26 September 2026. Unify Dynamics LLC ("we", "us"), Menlo Park, California.

What Border Check is. Border Check is a connector (an MCP server and REST API) that AI assistants and personal agents call on your behalf for a hand-curated, fully local border-crossing document reference — checklists, the passport-validity norm, proof-of-onward-travel guidance, customs and currency-declaration basics, a land-border checklist, and a document glossary. You interact with your assistant; the assistant sends us only the arguments needed for that one lookup.

What we receive. The arguments of each tool call — a trip purpose, a mode of crossing, a country/region name, or a glossary term — the technical headers needed to serve the request (an IP address or a client identifier supplied by the assistant, and a Pro API key if you have one), and standard server logs.

Everything is answered from a bundled, hand-curated reference file and nothing is stored. No request is forwarded to any third party — there is no upstream call at all, live or otherwise — and no query is logged in request bodies, recorded, or used to train anything.

What we do not receive or store. We do not receive your conversation with the assistant or your name, your passport number, or any travel-document data, and we do not build a profile from your queries: each request is answered independently and nothing carries over between requests. Rate-limit counters (a client identifier and timestamps) are held in memory for at most 24 hours. Hosting-provider access logs, which contain IP addresses and request paths but not request bodies, are retained for up to 30 days for security and abuse prevention.

Sub-processors. None — the entire dataset is bundled with the server and answered locally. Hosting: Vercel (United States regions).

Legal bases and your rights. Our processing is necessary to provide the service you request through your assistant. Because we store no personal data beyond short-lived logs, requests to access, correct or delete personal data are usually satisfied automatically; you can still contact agent@connectorbay.com and we will respond within 30 days. We do not sell or share personal information and do not use your data to train models.

Children. Border Check is a general-audience service operated by the adult using the assistant.

Changes. We will post changes here with a new effective date.

Terms of service

Border Check — Terms of Service

Effective 26 September 2026. These terms govern use of the Border Check connector ("the Service") operated by Unify Dynamics LLC ("we", "us").

  1. The Service. Border Check returns a hand-curated, fully local reference on common international border-crossing document requirements — checklists, the passport-validity norm, proof-of-onward-travel guidance, customs and currency-declaration basics, a land-border checklist, and a document glossary. It is accessed through an AI assistant or directly over MCP or HTTP.
  2. General information, not legal advice. Border Check is an independent educational reference, not a law firm, immigration consultancy, or government agency, and does not provide legal, immigration, or customs advice. Country-specific examples are illustrative, not exhaustive or guaranteed current — the traveler is solely responsible for verifying and meeting the actual, current entry requirements of their destination (and any transit country) with that country's official government or embassy source before travel.
  3. Reference, not real-time guidance. Content reflects general practice and web-verified norms as of the build date stated in the Service's own data. It does not know your nationality, specific itinerary, or destination's current rules, all of which change and vary.
  4. Acceptable use. Automated use within the published rate limits is welcome.
  5. Availability. The Service is provided "as is" without warranty. We may change, limit or discontinue it at any time.
  6. Data. Our Privacy Policy describes what we process. In short: your query is answered from a bundled reference file, and nothing is stored.
  7. Pro keys. Optional Pro API keys are issued at our discretion, are personal to the holder and may be revoked for abuse.
  8. Liability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Unify Dynamics LLC is not liable for any loss, injury, or damage arising from use of, or reliance on, the Service — including denied boarding or denied entry resulting from reliance on this Service instead of the destination's own official requirements. Our total liability is limited to US $100.
  9. Governing law. California law; venue in San Mateo County, California.
