Small Talk

Small Talk is a fully local, original small-talk topic generator for eight common situations: work events, parties, waiting rooms, elevators, networking events, the gym, queues, and public transport. It gives conversation openers, follow-up questions to keep things going, polite exit lines, general dos and don'ts, weather-opener alternatives, and safe compliment starters — every prompt an original composition, meant as an idea generator rather than a script to read verbatim. Keyless, zero upstream calls, nothing stored.

Tools

  • topics_by_setting — conversation topics/questions for one of the eight settings.
  • random_topic — one random pick, optionally scoped to a setting.
  • setting_list — all eight settings with a note and count each.
  • topic_search — keyword search across every topic.
  • follow_up_questions — ways to keep a conversation going once a topic (work, hobby, travel, food) comes up.
  • exit_line — polite ways to end a conversation, optionally tailored to a setting.
  • small_talk_dos_and_donts — general etiquette.
  • conversation_topic_pack — a mixed pack of topics plus a fitting exit line for one setting.
  • weather_alternatives — playful alternatives to the classic weather opener.
  • compliment_starters — safe, generic compliment-based openers.

Small Talk — Privacy Policy

Effective 27 September 2026. Unify Dynamics LLC ("we", "us"), Menlo Park, California.

What Small Talk is. Small Talk is a connector (an MCP server and REST API) that AI assistants and personal agents call on your behalf for original, hand-authored small-talk topics and conversation tips. You interact with your assistant; the assistant sends us only the arguments needed for that one lookup.

What we receive. The arguments of each tool call — a setting name or a search keyword — the technical headers needed to serve the request (an IP address or a client identifier supplied by the assistant, and a Pro API key if you have one), and standard server logs.

Everything is answered from bundled, hand-authored content and nothing is stored. No request is forwarded to any third party — there is no upstream call at all, live or otherwise — and no query is logged in request bodies, recorded, or used to train anything.

What we do not receive or store. We do not receive your conversation with the assistant or your name, and we do not build a profile from your queries. Rate-limit counters (a client identifier and timestamps) are held in memory for at most 24 hours. Hosting-provider access logs (IP addresses and request paths, not request bodies) are retained for up to 30 days for security and abuse prevention.

Sub-processors. None — the entire dataset is bundled with the server and answered locally. Hosting: Vercel (United States regions).

Legal bases and your rights. Our processing is necessary to provide the service you request through your assistant. Because we store no personal data beyond short-lived logs, requests to access, correct or delete personal data are usually satisfied automatically; you can still contact agent@connectorbay.com and we will respond within 30 days. We do not sell or share personal information and do not use your data to train models.

Children. Small Talk is a general-audience service operated by the adult using the assistant.

Changes. We will post changes here with a new effective date.

Small Talk — Terms of Service

Effective 27 September 2026. Unify Dynamics LLC ("we", "us"), Menlo Park, California.

The service. Small Talk provides original, hand-authored small-talk topics and conversation tips through an MCP server and REST API, for use by AI assistants on your behalf.

Not a substitute for judgment. Every suggestion is a generic idea-starter, not a guaranteed-appropriate line for your specific situation — you're always the one deciding what to actually say, and reading the room is on you.

Acceptable use. Don't use this service to harass, deceive, or manipulate anyone, and don't attempt to overwhelm, scrape at scale beyond documented rate limits, or reverse-engineer the service.

No warranty. The service is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We don't guarantee any particular conversational outcome from using it.

Limitation of liability. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Unify Dynamics LLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of this service.

Changes. We may update these terms; continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.
