trade_pathway_overviewtrade_comparison_tabletrade_school_vs_apprenticeship_comparisonhour_requirement_estimatorcontinuing_education_renewal_overviewlicense_levels_glossaryTradecert puts skilled-trade certification/licensing-pathway reference behind one connector, computed or looked up locally. trade_pathway_overview covers the apprentice-to-journeyman-to-master progression for electrician, plumber, HVAC technician, and welder: typical apprenticeship length, approximate OJT/classroom hour ranges, and a notable real certification for each (the federal EPA Section 608 refrigerant certification for HVAC; AWS process-specific certification for welding, which has no single state journeyman license). trade_school_vs_apprenticeship_comparison covers general cost/time/structure tradeoffs. continuing_education_renewal_overview covers general license-renewal concepts with a trade-specific note. license_levels_glossary defines apprentice, journeyman, master, OJT hours, JATC, reciprocity, and more. hour_requirement_estimator does real division from a trade's typical OJT hour range and a weekly hour commitment to an estimated number of years. trade_comparison_table lines up all four trades side by side. General US reference information, not legal or professional-licensing advice.
Sources: Computed locally / hand-curated general US skilled-trade apprenticeship and licensing-pathway reference (including the federal EPA Section 608 refrigerant-certification requirement and AWS welding-certification structure); fully local, zero upstream calls

"What's the path to becoming a licensed electrician?", "how many hours does a plumbing apprenticeship take?", "trade school or apprenticeship for HVAC — which is better?", "what does journeyman mean?" — the general skilled-trade licensing questions someone considering electrical, plumbing, HVAC, or welding work asks before enrolling anywhere — answered locally from a hand-curated reference and plain arithmetic, no upstream calls, nothing stored.
trade_pathway_overview covers the apprentice-to-journeyman-to-master progression for four common US
skilled trades (electrician, plumber, HVAC technician, welder): typical apprenticeship length, approximate
on-the-job-training and classroom hour ranges, what's required at each level, and one notable real
certification or code for that trade — including the federally required EPA Section 608 refrigerant
certification for HVAC, and the process/position-specific American Welding Society certification structure
for welding (which has no single state "journeyman license" the way electrical and plumbing generally do).
trade_school_vs_apprenticeship_comparison covers the general cost/time/structure tradeoffs between
attending trade school first and entering a paid apprenticeship directly. continuing_education_renewal_overview
covers general license-renewal concepts (typical 1-3 year renewal cycles, continuing-education hour
requirements, renewal fees, reciprocity), with a trade-specific note — e.g. that welding certifications
typically require re-qualification after a gap in producing welds rather than a fixed calendar renewal.
license_levels_glossary defines apprentice, journeyman, master, OJT hours, related instruction hours,
JATC, reciprocity, continuing education, and journeyman exam. hour_requirement_estimator does the actual
division from a trade's typical OJT hour range and a hypothetical weekly hour commitment to an estimated
number of years. trade_comparison_table lines up all four trades side by side.
General US reference information, not legal or professional-licensing advice. Apprenticeship hour requirements, licensing tiers, exam requirements, and renewal cycles are set individually by each state (and, for some trades, by individual union or JATC apprenticeship programs), vary considerably, and change over time — every hour/year figure here is an approximate, commonly cited range, not a specific program's actual requirement. Confirm current requirements with your state's contractor/trade licensing board or a specific apprenticeship program before enrolling or budgeting your time.

What Tradecert is. Tradecert is a connector (an MCP server and REST API) that AI assistants and personal agents call on your behalf for general skilled-trade certification/licensing-pathway reference information: apprenticeship structures, trade-school comparisons, renewal concepts, and an hour-to-years estimator. You interact with your assistant; the assistant sends us only the arguments needed for that one lookup or calculation.
What we receive. The arguments of each tool call — typically a trade name and, for the hour estimator, a weekly hour number — the technical headers needed to serve the request (an IP address or a client identifier supplied by the assistant, and a Pro API key if you have one), and standard server logs.
Nothing you submit is stored or logged. Every tool reads a bundled reference table or computes an answer from the numbers you provide, for that one request — no lookup history or personal detail is written to a database, recorded, or used to train anything. Request bodies are not logged.
What we do not receive or store. We do not receive your conversation with the assistant, your name, or any account information, and we do not build a profile from your queries: each request is answered independently. Rate-limit counters (a client identifier and timestamps, never the request content) are held in memory for at most 24 hours. Hosting-provider access logs, which contain IP addresses and request paths but not request bodies, are retained for up to 30 days for security and abuse prevention.
Sub-processors. None — there is no upstream call at all; every tool reads a reference file bundled with the server or computes locally. Hosting: Vercel (United States regions).
Legal bases and your rights. Our processing is necessary to provide the service you request through your assistant. Because we store no personal data beyond short-lived, content-free logs, requests to access, correct or delete personal data are usually satisfied automatically; you can still contact agent@connectorbay.com and we will respond within 30 days. We do not sell or share personal information and do not use your data to train models.
Children. Tradecert is a general-audience service operated by the adult using the assistant.
