About

ApprenticeGuide is a US registered-apprenticeship program-structure reference, complementing certification-pathway guides with the structure side specifically. registered_apprenticeship_structure explains the OJT (~2,000 hrs/yr, 85-95% of total) and RTI (144-hr/yr DOL minimum, 5-15% of total) components with trade examples (electrician, plumber, HVAC technician, carpenter, ironworker). role_distinctions covers employer, apprentice, and program-sponsor responsibilities. wage_progression_schedule gives a stepped wage schedule from a starting to ending percentage of journeyworker wage. wage_calculator computes the exact wage percentage and dollar wage at any point via real linear interpolation. apprenticeguide_glossary defines registered apprenticeship, journeyworker, work-process schedule, RTI, and Certificate of Completion. General reference, not legal or HR advice -- specific trades, employers, and state agencies set their own exact figures.

What ApprenticeGuide is for

"How is a registered apprenticeship actually structured", "what's the on-the-job-training-to-classroom hour split", "who's responsible for what -- employer, apprentice, or program sponsor", "an apprentice starts at 50% of journeyman wage and progresses to 100% over an 8,000-hour program -- what do they earn at 4,000 hours" -- the PROGRAM-STRUCTURE side of a US registered apprenticeship, answered locally from the real DOL model.

What it does

registered_apprenticeship_structure explains the real US Department of Labor registered-apprenticeship model: on-the-job training (OJT, roughly 2,000 hours per year of full-time work, typically 85-95% of total program hours) paired with related technical instruction (RTI, a longstanding 144-hour-per-year DOL reference minimum, typically 5-15% of total hours), with typical program length and total-hour examples for common trades (electrician, plumber, HVAC technician, carpenter, ironworker). role_distinctions explains the real employer (trains, supervises, pays wages) vs. apprentice (completes OJT/RTI, meets standards) vs. program- sponsor (registers the program, sets the wage schedule, certifies completion) roles. wage_progression_schedule gives a documented stepped wage schedule from a starting to an ending percentage of journeyworker wage across a number of periods. wage_calculator computes the exact wage percentage -- and dollar wage, if you give a journeyworker wage -- at ANY point in the program via real linear interpolation between a starting and ending percentage. apprenticeguide_glossary defines terms like registered apprenticeship, journeyworker, work- process schedule, RTI, and Certificate of Completion.

What it is not

General reference on the US DOL registered-apprenticeship program-structure model, not legal or HR advice, and not specific to any single trade, employer, state apprenticeship agency, or collective bargaining agreement -- all of which can and do set their own exact hour splits, program lengths, and wage schedules that differ from the typical ranges given here. It covers program STRUCTURE (how apprenticeships are built) rather than certification pathways (how to qualify/license in a specific trade).

ApprenticeGuide — Privacy Policy

Effective 28 September 2026. Unify Dynamics LLC ("we", "us"), Menlo Park, California.

What ApprenticeGuide is. ApprenticeGuide is a connector (an MCP server and REST API) that AI assistants and personal agents call on your behalf for a fully local US registered-apprenticeship program-structure reference lookup or wage-progression calculation. You interact with your assistant; the assistant sends us only the arguments needed for that one tool call.

What we receive. The arguments of each tool call — a trade, role, or glossary term you're looking up, or wage-progression numbers (percentages, hours, an hourly wage) — the technical headers needed to serve the request (an IP address or a client identifier supplied by the assistant, and a Pro API key if you have one), and standard server logs. We have no way to know, and do not ask, which real apprentice or program a calculation refers to.

Everything is computed locally from the numbers and lookups you provide, and nothing is stored. There is no upstream call at all — this connector has no live lookups of any real apprenticeship program, it is a bundled reference plus arithmetic on the numbers you send — and no request, including wage figures, is logged in request bodies, recorded, or used to train anything.

What we do not receive or store. We do not receive your conversation with the assistant, and we do not build a profile from your queries: each request is computed independently and nothing carries over between requests. Rate-limit counters (a client identifier and timestamps) are held in memory for at most 24 hours. Hosting-provider access logs, which contain IP addresses and request paths but not request bodies, are retained for up to 30 days for security and abuse prevention.

Sub-processors. None — every calculation runs locally against a bundled reference with no upstream call of any kind. Hosting: Vercel (United States regions).

Legal bases and your rights. Our processing is necessary to provide the service you request through your assistant. Because we store no personal data beyond short-lived logs, requests to access, correct or delete personal data are usually satisfied automatically; you can still contact agent@connectorbay.com and we will respond within 30 days. We do not sell or share personal information and do not use your data to train models.

Children. ApprenticeGuide is a general-audience service operated by the adult using the assistant.

Changes. We will post changes here with a new effective date.

Terms of service

ApprenticeGuide — Terms of Service

Effective 28 September 2026. These terms govern use of the ApprenticeGuide connector ("the Service") operated by Unify Dynamics LLC ("we", "us").

  1. The Service. ApprenticeGuide is a fully local US registered-apprenticeship program-structure reference and wage-progression calculator. It is accessed through an AI assistant or directly over MCP or HTTP.
  2. General reference, not legal or HR advice. ApprenticeGuide provides general information about the US Department of Labor registered-apprenticeship program-structure model. It is not legal or HR advice, and it does not reflect any specific trade's, employer's, state apprenticeship agency's, or collective bargaining agreement's actual requirements, which always take precedence over the typical ranges and examples given here.
  3. Your inputs, your judgment. You are responsible for the accuracy of any figures you supply to the wage calculators and for how you apply any result to a real apprenticeship program.
  4. Acceptable use. Automated use within the published rate limits is welcome.
  5. Availability. The Service is provided "as is" without warranty. We may change, limit or discontinue it at any time.
  6. Data. Our Privacy Policy describes what we process. In short: every calculation is computed locally from the numbers you provide, and nothing about a real program is stored.
  7. Pro keys. Optional Pro API keys are issued at our discretion, are personal to the holder and may be revoked for abuse.
  8. Liability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Unify Dynamics LLC is not liable for any loss arising from use of, or reliance on, the Service, including any wage or program-structure decision made using it. Our total liability is limited to US $100.
  9. Governing law. California law; venue in San Mateo County, California.
