What Aiven (BYOK) is for

Aiven (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own Aiven data through the Aiven API with a key you supply (personal access token). Read-only: 11 tools (get_me, list_projects, get_project, list_services, get_service, list_service_databases, get_service_backups, list_service_alerts, list_project_alerts, list_project_events, list_kafka_topics). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to api.aiven.io. Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Aiven. Aiven and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with.

Ask your assistant things like:

  • "Which Aiven account is my token connected to?"
  • "What Aiven projects do I have?"
  • "What is the default cloud of my Aiven project?"
  • "Which Aiven services are running in my project?"
  • "How big is my Aiven PostgreSQL service and when is its maintenance window?"
  • "Which databases exist in my Aiven service?"

What it does

  • get_me: Show the Aiven user the token belongs to: login, real name, state, creation time and the projects the user can access.
  • list_projects: List the Aiven projects the token can access with state, default cloud and organization. Billing details are not returned.
  • get_project: Get one Aiven project: state, default cloud and organization. Billing details are not returned.
  • list_services: List the managed services (PostgreSQL, Kafka, OpenSearch, etc.) of a project with type, state, plan, cloud, nodes and disk. Connection strings and passwords are not returned.
  • get_service: Get one managed service: type, state, plan, cloud, nodes, memory, disk, maintenance window, databases and tags. Connection strings and passwords are not returned.
  • list_service_databases: List the database names inside a managed service, 250 per page at most.
  • get_service_backups: Show the backups of a managed service (name, time, size) with the backup schedule and the point-in-time recovery range.
  • list_service_alerts: List active alerts of one managed service with event, severity and time.
  • list_project_alerts: List active alerts across all services of a project with event, severity and time.
  • list_project_events: List recent event log entries of a project (who did what to which service, and when).
  • list_kafka_topics: List the topics of an Aiven for Apache Kafka service with partitions, replication, retention and state.

BYOK key

You bring your own Aiven personal access token (https://console.aiven.io/profile/tokens). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to api.aiven.io over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.

Data sources

Live from the Aiven API (api.aiven.io) with a BYOK key; documentation: https://api.aiven.io/doc/. Endpoints checked against that documentation on 2026-10-16.

What it is not

Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Aiven. Aiven and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with. It is read-only: it never creates, changes, sends or deletes anything in your Aiven account.
