What AssemblyAI (BYOK) is for

AssemblyAI (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own AssemblyAI data through the AssemblyAI API with a key you supply (API key). Read-only: 4 tools (list_transcripts, get_transcript, get_transcript_sentences, get_transcript_paragraphs). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to api.assemblyai.com. Ask your assistant things like:

  • "Which AssemblyAI transcripts did I make recently and did they finish?"
  • "What does AssemblyAI transcript b33f4691-85b7-4f31-be12-a87cef1c1229 say?"

What it does

  • list_transcripts: List your transcripts from the last 30 days, newest first, with id, status, creation and completion time. Page through with before_id.
  • get_transcript: Get one transcript: status, full text, language, duration, confidence, summary if requested, and error.
  • get_transcript_sentences: Get a completed transcript split into sentences with start and end times in milliseconds, speaker and confidence.
  • get_transcript_paragraphs: Get a completed transcript split into paragraphs with start and end times in milliseconds and confidence.

BYOK key

You bring your own AssemblyAI API key (https://www.assemblyai.com/dashboard/api-keys). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to api.assemblyai.com over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.
