What aviationstack (BYOK) is for

aviationstack (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own aviationstack data through the aviationstack API with a key you supply (aviationstack access key). Read-only: 9 tools (search_flights, get_timetable, list_routes, list_airports, list_airlines, list_airplanes, list_cities, list_countries, list_aircraft_types). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to api.aviationstack.com. Ask your assistant things like:

  • "What is the status of flight MU2557?"
  • "What flights are scheduled to depart from JFK?"
  • "Which airlines fly from JFK to LHR?"
  • "What is the IATA code of Heathrow airport?"
  • "What is the IATA code of Lufthansa?"
  • "What do we know about the aircraft with registration N12345?"

What it does

  • search_flights: Search real-time and historical flights by status, date, airports, airline or flight code, with schedule, delays, gates and live position when available.
  • get_timetable: Get the departure or arrival schedule of one airport with flight codes, airlines, scheduled, estimated and actual times, terminals and gates.
  • list_routes: List airline routes with departure and arrival airports and the airline, optionally filtered by airports, airline or flight number.
  • list_airports: Search airports by name or code and return IATA and ICAO codes, location, time zone and country.
  • list_airlines: Search airlines by name or code and return IATA and ICAO codes, call sign, fleet size, status and country.
  • list_airplanes: Search individual aircraft by registration number or model and return model, series, delivery and registration dates and owner airline code.
  • list_cities: Search cities by name and return city IATA code, country, coordinates and time zone.
  • list_countries: Search countries by name and return ISO codes, capital, continent, currency, population and phone prefix.
  • list_aircraft_types: Search aircraft types by name and return their IATA codes.

BYOK key

You bring your own aviationstack aviationstack access key (https://aviationstack.com/signup/free). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to api.aviationstack.com over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.
