What Back4app (BYOK) is for

Back4app (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own Back4app data through the Back4app API with a key you supply (Back4app REST API key). Read-only: 5 tools (list_recent_objects, find_objects, get_object, count_objects, get_remote_config). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to parseapi.back4app.com. Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Back4app. Back4app and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with.

Ask your assistant things like:

  • "What are the latest rows in my Back4app GameScore class?"
  • "Which GameScore objects in Back4app have a score above 1000?"
  • "Show Back4app GameScore object Ed1nuqPvcm."
  • "How many GameScore objects with score above 1000 are in Back4app?"
  • "What remote config values does my Back4app app serve?"

What it does

  • list_recent_objects: List objects of a class, newest first by default, with every stored field. Subject to the class permissions of the REST key.
  • find_objects: Find objects of a class that match a JSON constraint, with every stored field. Subject to the class permissions of the REST key.
  • get_object: Get one object of a class by its objectId, with every stored field.
  • count_objects: Count the objects of a class, optionally those matching a JSON constraint, without returning them.
  • get_remote_config: Get the app's remote configuration parameters (feature gates, messages of the day) as key and value pairs.

BYOK key

You bring your own Back4app Back4app REST API key (https://www.back4app.com/docs/get-started/parse-sdk). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to parseapi.back4app.com over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.

Data sources

Live from the Back4app API (parseapi.back4app.com) with a BYOK key; documentation: https://www.back4app.com/docs/get-started/parse-sdk. Endpoints checked against that documentation on 2026-10-16.

What it is not

Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Back4app. Back4app and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with. It is read-only: it never creates, changes, sends or deletes anything in your Back4app account.
