What Bandwidth Voice (BYOK) is for

Bandwidth Voice (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own Bandwidth Voice data through the Bandwidth Voice API with a key you supply (API username). Read-only: 6 tools (list_calls, get_call, list_conferences, get_conference, list_recordings, list_call_recordings). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to voice.bandwidth.com. Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Bandwidth Voice. Bandwidth Voice and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with.

Ask your assistant things like:

  • "Which Bandwidth calls ended with an error in the last day?"
  • "What happened to Bandwidth call c-15ac29a2-1331029c-2cb0-4a07-b8c4-1e39e9a2f37d?"
  • "Are any Bandwidth conferences active right now?"
  • "Who is in Bandwidth conference conf-1?"
  • "Which Bandwidth calls were recorded today?"
  • "Was Bandwidth call c-1 recorded?"

What it does

  • list_calls: List voice calls oldest first (calls are kept 7 days after hang-up) with numbers, direction, state, timings and disconnect cause. Only the first page is returned; narrow with the time filters.
  • get_call: Get the state of one call: numbers, direction, state, timings, disconnect cause and error message (kept for 7 days).
  • list_conferences: List voice conferences (up to the first page) with name, creation and completion time and active members.
  • get_conference: Get one conference: name, times and active members with mute and hold flags.
  • list_recordings: List metadata of call recordings (id, call, numbers, duration, format, status, times); media links and transcripts are not returned. Capped at 1000 by the API.
  • list_call_recordings: List metadata of the recordings made during one call.

BYOK key

You bring your own Bandwidth Voice API username (https://app.bandwidth.com/). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to voice.bandwidth.com over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.

Data sources

Live from the Bandwidth Voice API (voice.bandwidth.com) with a BYOK key; documentation: https://dev.bandwidth.com/docs/tools/openapi-specs. Endpoints checked against that documentation on 2026-10-16.

What it is not

Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Bandwidth Voice. Bandwidth Voice and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with. It is read-only: it never creates, changes, sends or deletes anything in your Bandwidth Voice account.
