What Baseten Training (BYOK) is for

Baseten Training (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own Baseten Training data through the Baseten Training API with a key you supply (Baseten API key). Read-only: 7 tools (list_training_projects, get_training_project, list_training_jobs, get_training_job, list_training_job_checkpoints, get_training_project_cache_summary, get_training_job_queue_context). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to api.baseten.co. Baseten Training and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with.

What it does

  • list_training_projects: List your Baseten training projects with team name and creation and update times. Reads metadata only: it starts, stops and changes nothing.
  • get_training_project: Get one Baseten training project by id with team name and times. Reads metadata only: it starts, stops and changes nothing.
  • list_training_jobs: List the jobs of a Baseten training project with status, instance type, node count, priority, availability model and error message. Reads metadata only: it starts, stops and changes nothing.
  • get_training_job: Get one Baseten training job: status, instance type, node count, priority, error message and times. Reads metadata only: it starts, stops and changes nothing.
  • list_training_job_checkpoints: List the checkpoints a Baseten training job saved with type, size in bytes, sync status and creation time. Reads metadata only: it starts, stops and changes nothing.
  • get_training_project_cache_summary: List the files in a Baseten training project's persistent cache with size in bytes and modification time. Reads metadata only: it starts, stops and changes nothing.
  • get_training_job_queue_context: Show why a Baseten training job waited in the queue: GPU type, GPUs requested, submit and release times, and pending seconds. Reads metadata only: it starts, stops and changes nothing.

BYOK key

You bring your own Baseten Training Baseten API key (https://app.baseten.co/settings/api_keys). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to api.baseten.co over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.
