What BigCommerce (BYOK) is for

BigCommerce (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own BigCommerce data through the BigCommerce API with a key you supply (API account access token (create it with read-only scopes)). Read-only: 7 tools (get_store_information, list_products, get_product, list_categories, list_orders, get_order, list_customers). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to api.bigcommerce.com. What it does

  • get_store_information: Show the store's name, domain, plan, currency, time zone, country and status. Needs the store information read scope.
  • list_products: List catalog products with price, stock level, visibility and sales count, filtered by name or keyword, SKU, availability or visibility. Needs the products read scope.
  • get_product: Get one catalog product with price, cost, stock, dimensions, availability and dates.
  • list_categories: List catalog categories with parent, visibility and storefront URL. Needs the products read scope.
  • list_orders: List orders (API v2) with status, payment status, totals, customer and dates. Returns a plain list; page with page and limit. Needs the orders read scope.
  • get_order: Get one order (API v2) with status, totals, taxes, payment method and billing contact name.
  • list_customers: List customers (API v3) with name, email, company, group and creation date, filtered by email, name or date. Needs the customers read scope.

BYOK key

You bring your own BigCommerce API account access token (create it with read-only scopes) (https://developer.bigcommerce.com/docs/start/authentication/api-accounts). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to api.bigcommerce.com over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.
