What Brewfather (BYOK) is for
Brewfather (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own Brewfather data through the Brewfather API with a key you supply (Brewfather user id). Read-only: 11 tools (list_batches, get_batch, get_batch_last_reading, list_batch_readings, get_batch_brew_tracker, list_recipes, get_recipe, list_fermentables, list_hops, list_yeasts, list_miscs). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to api.brewfather.app. Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Brewfather. Brewfather and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with.
Ask your assistant things like:
- "Which of my Brewfather batches are fermenting right now?"
- "What was the final gravity and ABV of my batch abc123BatchId?"
- "What is the latest gravity reading of batch abc123BatchId?"
- "Show the gravity curve readings of batch abc123BatchId"
- "Where is the brew tracker for batch abc123BatchId?"
- "What recipes do I have in Brewfather?"
What it does
list_batches: List your brew batches (name, number, status, brewer, brew date, recipe name); filter by status and page with start_after.get_batch: Get one batch: status, dates, estimated and measured gravity, IBU, colour, ABV, attenuation, volumes and taste rating.get_batch_last_reading: Get the latest fermentation reading of a batch: gravity, temperature, pH, pressure and source device type.list_batch_readings: List all stored fermentation readings of a batch (time, gravity, temperature, pH, source), oldest first.get_batch_brew_tracker: Get the stored brew tracker state of a batch: whether it is enabled or completed, the current stage and the stages (empty when no tracker is active).list_recipes: List your recipes (name, author, type, style, equipment); page with start_after.get_recipe: Get one recipe with style, volumes, expected OG/FG/ABV/IBU/colour and its fermentables, hops, yeasts and misc ingredients.list_fermentables: List your Brewfather fermentable (malt and sugar) inventory (items you added or changed) with stock amount and key properties; units are metric.list_hops: List your Brewfather hop inventory (items you added or changed) with stock amount and key properties; units are metric.list_yeasts: List your Brewfather yeast inventory (items you added or changed) with stock amount and key properties; units are metric.list_miscs: List your Brewfather miscellaneous ingredient (spices, finings, water salts) inventory (items you added or changed) with stock amount and key properties; units are metric.
BYOK key
You bring your own Brewfather Brewfather user id (https://web.brewfather.app/tabs/settings). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to api.brewfather.app over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.
Notices
Brewfather allows 500 API calls per hour per key. Create the API key with read scopes only (batches.read, recipes.read, inventory.read).
