What Buffer (BYOK) is for

Buffer (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own Buffer data through the Buffer API with a key you supply (Buffer API key). Read-only: 10 tools (list_organizations, list_channels, get_channel, list_sent_posts, list_scheduled_posts, list_draft_posts, get_post, get_post_metrics, get_aggregated_metrics, list_tags). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to api.buffer.com. Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Buffer. Buffer and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with.

Ask your assistant things like:

  • "Which Buffer organizations do I have?"
  • "Which social channels are connected to my Buffer organization?"
  • "Is the queue paused on my Buffer channel c1?"
  • "What did we publish on Buffer recently?"
  • "What is scheduled to go out on Buffer next?"
  • "Which Buffer drafts are waiting to be finished?"

What it does

  • list_organizations: List the Buffer organizations that belong to the authenticated account (ID and name). Start here to get the organization ID the other tools need.
  • list_channels: List the connected social channels of an organization with network, display name, avatar and whether the queue is paused or locked.
  • get_channel: Get one connected channel by ID with network, display name and queue status.
  • list_sent_posts: List published (sent) posts of an organization, newest first, with text, channel and timestamps. Paginated with a cursor.
  • list_scheduled_posts: List posts scheduled for future publishing, soonest first, with text, channel and due time. Paginated with a cursor.
  • list_draft_posts: List draft posts of an organization, most recently created first. Paginated with a cursor.
  • get_post: Get one post by ID with text, status, channel and timestamps.
  • get_post_metrics: Get the performance metrics (reactions, comments, impressions and similar, depending on the network) of one sent post. Needs a personal API key.
  • get_aggregated_metrics: Get server-side aggregated post metrics (post count, reactions, comments and more) for an organization over a date window of at most 365 days. Needs a personal API key.
  • list_tags: List an organization's post tags sorted by name, with color and whether the tag is locked, plus the total count. Paginated with a cursor.

BYOK key

You bring your own Buffer Buffer API key (https://publish.buffer.com/settings/api). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to api.buffer.com over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.

Data sources

Live from the Buffer API (api.buffer.com) with a BYOK key; documentation: https://developers.buffer.com. Endpoints checked against that documentation on 2026-10-16.

What it is not

Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Buffer. Buffer and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with. It is read-only: it never creates, changes, sends or deletes anything in your Buffer account.
