What Buzzsprout (BYOK) is for

Buzzsprout (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own Buzzsprout data through the Buzzsprout API with a key you supply (Buzzsprout API token). Read-only: 8 tools (list_podcasts, get_podcast, list_episodes, get_episode, get_podcast_downloads, list_episode_chapters, list_directory_listings, list_contributors). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to www.buzzsprout.com. What it does

  • list_podcasts: List the podcasts the token can access with title, author, description, language, time zone, category and RSS feed URL.
  • get_podcast: Get one podcast's title, author, description, website, language, time zone, categories, artwork and RSS feed URL.
  • list_episodes: List a podcast's episodes with publish date, duration, season and episode number, type, private flag, total downloads and audio URL.
  • get_episode: Get one episode with title, description, artist, publish date, duration, numbers, type, private flag and total downloads.
  • get_podcast_downloads: Get download counts per episode for one podcast-local calendar day (only episodes with at least one download that day). Returns an empty list on a quiet day.
  • list_episode_chapters: List the chapters of one episode: id, title, start time and optional link.
  • list_directory_listings: List the podcast directories (Apple Podcasts, Spotify and others) with listing status (listed, submitted, unlisted or failed) and the public URL.
  • list_contributors: List the on-show credits of a podcast (hosts, co-hosts, producers, editors, guests) with role, bio and link.

BYOK key

You bring your own Buzzsprout Buzzsprout API token (https://www.buzzsprout.com/my/profile/api). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to www.buzzsprout.com over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.
