What Cartesia Voices (BYOK) is for
Cartesia Voices (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own Cartesia Voices data through the Cartesia Voices API with a key you supply (API key). Read-only: 7 tools (list_voices, get_voice, list_accents, list_models, list_pronunciation_dictionaries, list_fine_tunes, list_datasets). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to api.cartesia.ai. Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Cartesia Voices. Cartesia Voices and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with.
Ask your assistant things like:
- "Find feminine English voices in Cartesia that I could use for customer support"
- "Show the details of one Cartesia voice"
- "Which accents can Cartesia localize a voice into for Spanish?"
- "Which text to speech models does Cartesia offer?"
- "Which pronunciation dictionaries do I have in Cartesia?"
- "What is the training status of my Cartesia fine-tunes?"
What it does
list_voices: List Cartesia voices (library and your own) with name, tagline, description, gender, language, accents and ownership, filterable by search text, gender, language or owner.get_voice: Get one Cartesia voice by id: name, tagline, description, gender, language, accents, access and creation time.list_accents: List the accents Cartesia supports with language, locale and whether a voice can be localized into each, optionally filtered.list_models: List the Cartesia speech models (text to speech and speech to text) with capability and, for speech to text, batch or streaming modes.list_pronunciation_dictionaries: List pronunciation dictionaries with name, ownership, pinned flag, creation time and the text-to-pronunciation items they hold.list_fine_tunes: List voice fine-tunes with name, language, accent, compatible model ids, dataset and training status including any user errors.list_datasets: List fine-tuning datasets with name, id and creation time (file contents are not returned).
BYOK key
You bring your own Cartesia Voices API key (https://play.cartesia.ai/keys). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to api.cartesia.ai over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.
Notices
Read-only: lists voices and catalogs only. It never generates speech or transcribes audio, so it does not use credits.
