What Chapa (BYOK) is for

Chapa (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own Chapa data through the Chapa API with a key you supply (Chapa secret key (CHASECK-... or CHASECK_TEST-...; the key can also send transfers, this connector only reads)). Read-only: 8 tools (verify_transaction, get_transaction_events, list_transfers, verify_transfer, get_balances, get_currency_balance, list_banks, get_exchange_rate). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to api.chapa.co. Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Chapa. Chapa and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with.

Ask your assistant things like:

  • "Was Chapa payment chewatatest-6669 paid?"
  • "What happened during Chapa payment chewatatest-6669?"
  • "Which Chapa transfers failed this month?"
  • "Did Chapa transfer chewatatest-6669 go through?"
  • "What is my Chapa balance?"
  • "How much USD do I have on Chapa?"

What it does

  • verify_transaction: Check one payment by your transaction reference: status, amount, fee, currency, payment method, mode and timestamps. Payer name and email are left out.
  • get_transaction_events: List the timeline of events for one payment (attempts, provider results, redirects) in time order.
  • list_transfers: List your payouts with reference, type, currency, amount, fee, bank name, status and timestamps, with paging info. Recipient names and account numbers are left out.
  • verify_transfer: Check one payout by your transfer reference: status, currency, amount, fee, method, bank name and timestamps. Recipient name and account number are left out.
  • get_balances: Get your available and ledger balance in every currency of the account.
  • get_currency_balance: Get your available and ledger balance in one currency.
  • list_banks: List the banks and mobile-money providers Chapa can pay out to, with code, name, swift, account length and currency.
  • get_exchange_rate: Get the current exchange rate and fee between two supported currencies, for example before a swap. Only reads the rate.

BYOK key

You bring your own Chapa Chapa secret key (CHASECK-... or CHASECK_TEST-...; the key can also send transfers, this connector only reads) (https://developer.chapa.co/dashboard/quick-start). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to api.chapa.co over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.

Data sources

Live from the Chapa API (api.chapa.co) with a BYOK key; documentation: https://developer.chapa.co/transactions/all-transactions. Endpoints checked against that documentation on 2026-10-16.

What it is not

Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Chapa. Chapa and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with. It is read-only: it never creates, changes, sends or deletes anything in your Chapa account.
