What Chargebee (BYOK) is for

Chargebee (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own Chargebee data through the Chargebee API with a key you supply (Chargebee API key (a read-only key is enough)). Read-only: 7 tools (list_subscriptions, list_customers, list_invoices, list_transactions, list_item_prices, list_items, list_plans). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to *.chargebee.com. Ask your assistant things like:

  • "Which Chargebee subscriptions are active and when do they renew?"
  • "Find the Chargebee customer with email jo@example.com"
  • "Which Chargebee invoices are unpaid?"
  • "What payments did Chargebee record recently?"
  • "What prices and billing periods are in my Chargebee catalog?"
  • "What plans and addons exist in my Chargebee catalog?"

What it does

  • list_subscriptions: List Chargebee subscriptions with status, customer, term dates, next billing time, monthly recurring revenue and amounts due. Pass next_offset for the next page.
  • list_customers: List Chargebee customers with name, email, company, billing mode, balances and creation time. Pass next_offset for the next page.
  • list_invoices: List Chargebee invoices with number, customer, subscription, status, totals, amount due and dates. Amounts are in the smallest currency unit (cents). Pass next_offset for the next page.
  • list_transactions: List Chargebee payment transactions (payments and refunds) with type, status, amount, gateway and date. Amounts are in the smallest currency unit. Pass next_offset for the next page.
  • list_item_prices: List Chargebee item prices (what customers are charged: price, period, currency, trial) for sites on Product Catalog 2.0. Prices are in the smallest currency unit.
  • list_items: List Chargebee items (plans, addons and charges) for sites on Product Catalog 2.0.
  • list_plans: List Chargebee plans for sites still on Product Catalog 1.0 (newer sites use list_items and list_item_prices). Prices are in the smallest currency unit.

BYOK key

You bring your own Chargebee Chargebee API key (a read-only key is enough) (https://apidocs.chargebee.com/docs/api/auth). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to *.chargebee.com over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.
