What Cloudflare Custom Hostnames (BYOK) is for

Cloudflare Custom Hostnames (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own Cloudflare Custom Hostnames data through the Cloudflare Custom Hostnames API with a key you supply (Cloudflare API token with SSL and Certificates read permission). Read-only: 6 tools (list_custom_hostnames, get_custom_hostname, get_fallback_origin, get_custom_hostname_quota, list_hostname_tls_settings, get_hostname_tls_setting). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to api.cloudflare.com. Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Cloudflare Custom Hostnames. Cloudflare Custom Hostnames and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with.

Ask your assistant things like:

  • "Which customer hostnames are pending certificate validation on my zone?"
  • "Show custom hostname 0d89c70d-ad9f-4843-b99f-6cc0252067e9"
  • "What is the fallback origin for my custom hostnames?"
  • "How many custom hostnames can my zone have and how many are used?"
  • "What minimum TLS version is set for each custom hostname?"
  • "What min TLS version does shop.customer.example use?"

What it does

  • list_custom_hostnames: List a zone's custom hostnames (customer domains served through the zone) with hostname status, origin settings and certificate status, method, authority and expiry. Certificate keys and validation tokens are not returned.
  • get_custom_hostname: Get one custom hostname with status, origin override, certificate details and verification errors. Certificate keys and validation tokens are not returned.
  • get_fallback_origin: Get the fallback origin that serves custom hostnames without their own origin, with its deployment status.
  • get_custom_hostname_quota: Show the custom hostname quota of a zone: allocated, hard cap, used and whether it is exceeded.
  • list_hostname_tls_settings: List the per-hostname TLS settings of one kind (ciphers, min_tls_version or http2) with value and status per hostname.
  • get_hostname_tls_setting: Get one per-hostname TLS setting (ciphers, min_tls_version or http2) for a hostname.

BYOK key

You bring your own Cloudflare Custom Hostnames Cloudflare API token with SSL and Certificates read permission (https://dash.cloudflare.com/profile/api-tokens). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to api.cloudflare.com over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.

Data sources

Live from the Cloudflare Custom Hostnames API (api.cloudflare.com) with a BYOK key; documentation: https://developers.cloudflare.com/api/resources/custom_hostnames/. Endpoints checked against that documentation on 2026-10-16.

What it is not

Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Cloudflare Custom Hostnames. Cloudflare Custom Hostnames and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with. It is read-only: it never creates, changes, sends or deletes anything in your Cloudflare Custom Hostnames account.
