What Cloudflare Databases (BYOK) is for

Cloudflare Databases (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own Cloudflare Databases data through the Cloudflare Databases API with a key you supply (Cloudflare API token with D1 and Hyperdrive read permission). Read-only: 5 tools (list_d1_databases, get_d1_database, get_d1_time_travel_bookmark, list_hyperdrive_configs, get_hyperdrive_config). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to api.cloudflare.com.   • "Which D1 databases do I have in Cloudflare?"
  • "How big is my D1 database and how many tables does it have?"
  • "What is the D1 Time Travel bookmark of my database right now?"
  • "Which Hyperdrive connection configs exist and what database do they point at?"
  • "How is Hyperdrive config pg-main cached?"

What it does

  • list_d1_databases: List the D1 databases of an account with UUID, name, creation date, version and jurisdiction. Does not run queries.
  • get_d1_database: Get one D1 database: name, size in bytes, number of tables, jurisdiction, version and read replication mode.
  • get_d1_time_travel_bookmark: Get the Time Travel bookmark of a D1 database at a given time (default: now). A bookmark identifies a restore point.
  • list_hyperdrive_configs: List Hyperdrive configurations with name, origin host, port, database, scheme, caching settings and connection limit. Origin passwords are never returned.
  • get_hyperdrive_config: Get one Hyperdrive configuration: origin host, port, database, scheme, caching and mTLS settings.

BYOK key

You bring your own Cloudflare Databases Cloudflare API token with D1 and Hyperdrive read permission (https://dash.cloudflare.com/profile/api-tokens). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to api.cloudflare.com over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.
