What Cloudflare Stream (BYOK) is for

Cloudflare Stream (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own Cloudflare Stream data through the Cloudflare Stream API with a key you supply (Cloudflare API token with Stream read permission). Read-only: 10 tools (list_videos, get_video, list_video_captions, get_video_downloads, list_video_audio_tracks, list_live_inputs, get_live_input, list_watermark_profiles, get_storage_usage, get_viewing_usage). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to api.cloudflare.com. What it does

  • list_videos: List videos in a Cloudflare Stream account with status, duration, size, dates, thumbnail and HLS/DASH playback URLs. Filter by status, search text, creator or date range.
  • get_video: Get one Stream video's status, metadata, duration, size, playback URLs, thumbnail, signed-URL requirement and scheduled deletion.
  • list_video_captions: List the captions and subtitles of a Stream video with language, label, status and whether they were generated automatically.
  • get_video_downloads: Show the status and URLs of the MP4 and audio-only downloads enabled for a Stream video.
  • list_video_audio_tracks: List additional audio tracks attached to a Stream video with label, language status and default flag.
  • list_live_inputs: List the live inputs (streaming endpoints) in the account with uid, enabled flag, metadata and dates. Stream keys are not returned by this list.
  • get_live_input: Get one live input's state: connection status, enabled flag, recording mode, latency setting and playback URLs. Ingest stream keys are not returned.
  • list_watermark_profiles: List the watermark profiles saved in the account with name, position, scale, opacity and size.
  • get_storage_usage: Show total stored minutes, the plan's minute limit and the video count for the account (optionally for one creator).
  • get_viewing_usage: Get minutes of video viewed over time, bucketed by hour, day, week or month, for a time range.

BYOK key

You bring your own Cloudflare Stream Cloudflare API token with Stream read permission (https://dash.cloudflare.com/profile/api-tokens). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to api.cloudflare.com over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.
