What Cloudflare Vectorize (BYOK) is for

Cloudflare Vectorize (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own Cloudflare Vectorize data through the Cloudflare Vectorize API with a key you supply (Cloudflare API token with Vectorize read permission). Read-only: 5 tools (list_indexes, get_index, get_index_info, list_vector_ids, list_metadata_indexes). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to api.cloudflare.com.   • "Which Vectorize indexes do I have?"
  • "What dimensions and metric does my Vectorize index docs-index use?"
  • "How many vectors are in my Vectorize index?"
  • "Which vector ids are stored in my index?"
  • "Which metadata properties of my Vectorize index can be filtered on?"

What it does

  • list_indexes: List the Vectorize indexes of an account with description, dimensions, distance metric and dates.
  • get_index: Get one Vectorize index: description, dimensions, distance metric and dates.
  • get_index_info: Get live statistics of a Vectorize index: vector count, dimensions and the last processed mutation time.
  • list_vector_ids: List the vector ids stored in a Vectorize index (ids only, no vectors or metadata) with a cursor for paging.
  • list_metadata_indexes: List the metadata property indexes of a Vectorize index (property name and type) that can be used in query filters.

BYOK key

You bring your own Cloudflare Vectorize Cloudflare API token with Vectorize read permission (https://dash.cloudflare.com/profile/api-tokens). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to api.cloudflare.com over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.
