What CloudZero (BYOK) is for

CloudZero (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own CloudZero data through the CloudZero API with a key you supply (CloudZero API key (sent as the plain Authorization header, no Bearer prefix)). Read-only: 8 tools (get_billing_costs, list_billing_dimensions, list_billing_connections, list_budgets, list_insights, list_views, list_recommendation_types, list_recommendations). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to api.cloudzero.com. Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by CloudZero. CloudZero and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with.

Ask your assistant things like:

  • "What did we spend per day in CloudZero since the start of October?"
  • "Which cost dimensions can I group CloudZero spend by?"
  • "Which cloud billing connections does CloudZero have and are they enabled?"
  • "How are my CloudZero budgets tracking against plan?"
  • "What open cost insights does CloudZero have?"
  • "Which CloudZero views have anomaly alerts enabled?"

What it does

  • get_billing_costs: Query CloudZero cost data over a date range at hourly to yearly granularity, by cost type. The API allows 60 requests a day.
  • list_billing_dimensions: List the cost dimensions (such as provider, service, account, region, tags) available for grouping and CostFormation.
  • list_billing_connections: List billing connections (AWS, Azure, GCP, AnyCost and others) with type, provider, enabled flag and last update.
  • list_budgets: List budgets with their view, planned limits, alert settings and current actual versus planned spend.
  • list_insights: List cost insights with title, category, status, effort, cost impact and a link to the details.
  • list_views: List saved views (cost groupings) with filter, principal dimension, anomaly detection settings and notification schedule. Recipient addresses are not included.
  • list_recommendation_types: List the savings recommendation types CloudZero checks, with cloud provider, category, effort, status and stage.
  • list_recommendations: List savings recommendations with title, category, effort, status and 30-day cost impact, largest first.

BYOK key

You bring your own CloudZero CloudZero API key (sent as the plain Authorization header, no Bearer prefix) (https://app.cloudzero.com/settings/api-keys). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to api.cloudzero.com over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.

Data sources

Live from the CloudZero API (api.cloudzero.com) with a BYOK key; documentation: https://docs.cloudzero.com/reference/introduction. Endpoints checked against that documentation on 2026-10-16.

What it is not

Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by CloudZero. CloudZero and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with. It is read-only: it never creates, changes, sends or deletes anything in your CloudZero account.
