What Codeberg (BYOK) is for

Codeberg (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own Codeberg data through the Codeberg API with a key you supply (Codeberg access token). Read-only: 12 tools (get_authenticated_user, list_my_repositories, search_repositories, get_repository, list_issues, search_issues, list_pull_requests, list_commits, list_branches, list_releases, list_workflow_runs, list_notifications). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to codeberg.org. Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Codeberg. Codeberg and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with.

Ask your assistant things like:

  • "Which Codeberg account is my token connected to?"
  • "What are my most recently updated Codeberg repositories?"
  • "Find popular Codeberg repositories about static site generators"
  • "How many stars and open issues does forgejo/forgejo have on Codeberg?"
  • "What open issues labelled bug does forgejo/forgejo have?"
  • "Which Codeberg issues am I assigned to?"

What it does

  • get_authenticated_user: Show the Codeberg account the token belongs to: username, full name, email, followers and creation date.
  • list_my_repositories: List repositories owned by the token's account with language, stars, forks, open issue counts and last update.
  • search_repositories: Search public Codeberg repositories by keyword, sorted by stars, forks, update time or name.
  • get_repository: Get one repository's description, language, stars, forks, open issues, default branch and last update.
  • list_issues: List a repository's issues (set type=pulls for pull requests) filtered by state, labels or text.
  • search_issues: Search issues or pull requests across all repositories the token can see, by text, state, owner or involvement.
  • list_pull_requests: List a repository's pull requests by state with author, draft and merge flags, branches and dates.
  • list_commits: List recent commits of a repository, optionally from a branch, tag or SHA, with message, author and date.
  • list_branches: List a repository's branches with protection flag and the latest commit id, message and time.
  • list_releases: List a repository's releases with tag, name, draft and pre-release flags and publish date.
  • list_workflow_runs: List recent Forgejo Actions workflow runs of a repository with status, trigger event, ref, commit and times.
  • list_notifications: List your Codeberg notification threads (unread by default) with subject, state and repository.

BYOK key

You bring your own Codeberg Codeberg access token (https://codeberg.org/user/settings/applications). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to codeberg.org over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.

Data sources

Live from the Codeberg API (codeberg.org) with a BYOK key; documentation: https://codeberg.org/api/swagger. Endpoints checked against that documentation on 2026-10-16.

What it is not

Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Codeberg. Codeberg and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with. It is read-only: it never creates, changes, sends or deletes anything in your Codeberg account.
