What Comet (BYOK) is for

Comet (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own Comet data through the Comet API with a key you supply (Comet API key). Read-only: 12 tools (list_workspaces, list_projects, get_project, list_project_columns, list_experiments, get_experiment_metadata, get_metrics_summary, get_parameters, get_experiment_tags, get_metric_values, get_system_details, list_registry_models). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to www.comet.com. Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Comet. Comet and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with.

Ask your assistant things like:

  • "Which Comet workspaces do I belong to?"
  • "Which projects are in my Comet workspace?"
  • "Show the Comet project aProjectId"
  • "What metrics and parameters are logged in Comet project aProjectId?"
  • "Which experiments ran in Comet project aProjectId?"
  • "When did Comet experiment 3f9a1c2d4e5b4a6f8c7d9e0a1b2c3d4e run?"

What it does

  • list_workspaces: List the workspace names the key's account can use.
  • list_projects: List a workspace's projects with owner, description, public flag, experiment count and last update.
  • get_project: Get one project's details by project id.
  • list_project_columns: List the columns of a project (metric, parameter, tag and metadata names) that can be used in project queries.
  • list_experiments: List a project's experiments with key, name, start and end time and duration. Archived experiments only when asked.
  • get_experiment_metadata: Get an experiment's name, project, workspace, start and end time and duration.
  • get_metrics_summary: Get an experiment's metrics summary: current, minimum and maximum value of each logged metric with the step it came from.
  • get_parameters: Get an experiment's logged parameters (hyperparameters) with their current value.
  • get_experiment_tags: Get the tags of an experiment.
  • get_metric_values: Get all recorded values of one metric of an experiment with step, epoch and timestamp. Only the first 50 values are shown.
  • get_system_details: Get the machine an experiment ran on: user, OS, Python version, hostname, GPUs, maximum memory and command.
  • list_registry_models: List a workspace's model registry entries with description, owner, latest version, stages and last update.

BYOK key

You bring your own Comet Comet API key (https://www.comet.com/api/my/settings/). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to www.comet.com over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.

Data sources

Live from the Comet API (www.comet.com) with a BYOK key; documentation: https://www.comet.com/docs/v2/api-and-sdk/rest-api/read-endpoints/. Endpoints checked against that documentation on 2026-10-16.

What it is not

Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Comet. Comet and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with. It is read-only: it never creates, changes, sends or deletes anything in your Comet account.
