What Copper (BYOK) is for

Copper (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own Copper data through the Copper API with a key you supply (Copper API key). Read-only: 8 tools (get_account, list_users, search_people, search_companies, search_opportunities, search_tasks, search_activities, search_activities_for_record). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to api.copper.com. Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Copper. Copper and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with.

Ask your assistant things like:

  • "Which Copper account is my API key connected to?"
  • "Who are the users in my Copper account?"
  • "Find the Copper contact named Jane Smith"
  • "Find Copper companies with Acme in the name"
  • "What are my biggest Copper opportunities?"
  • "Which Copper tasks are due soon?"

What it does

  • get_account: Show the Copper account the key belongs to: account name, time zone and whether team permissions and leads are enabled.
  • list_users: List the users of your Copper account with id, name and email.
  • search_people: Search Copper people (contacts) by name or location with title, company, emails, phone numbers and interaction counts. Dates are Unix timestamps.
  • search_companies: Search Copper companies by name or location with email domain, phone numbers, assignee and interaction counts. Dates are Unix timestamps.
  • search_opportunities: Search Copper opportunities with value, status, pipeline stage, close date and owner. Use sort_by to rank by value or date. Dates are Unix timestamps.
  • search_tasks: Search Copper tasks with due date, status, priority, assignee and the record each task relates to. Dates are Unix timestamps.
  • search_activities: Search Copper activity log entries (calls, meetings, notes, system changes) in a date range across all records.
  • search_activities_for_record: Search the Copper activity log of one record (person, company, lead or opportunity) by its id.

BYOK key

You bring your own Copper Copper API key (https://developer.copper.com/introduction/authentication.html). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to api.copper.com over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.

Data sources

Live from the Copper API (api.copper.com) with a BYOK key; documentation: https://developer.copper.com/. Endpoints checked against that documentation on 2026-10-16.

What it is not

Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Copper. Copper and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with. It is read-only: it never creates, changes, sends or deletes anything in your Copper account.
