What Cortex (BYOK) is for

Cortex (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own Cortex data through the Cortex API with a key you supply (Cortex API key). Read-only: 12 tools (list_entities, get_entity, list_entity_types, list_scorecards, get_scorecard_scores, get_entity_scorecards, list_teams, list_initiatives, list_entity_deployments, search_deployments, list_workflows, get_integration_status). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to api.getcortexapp.com. Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Cortex. Cortex and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with.

Ask your assistant things like:

  • "Which services are in our Cortex catalog?"
  • "Who owns the payments-service entity in Cortex and where is its repository?"
  • "Which entity types are defined in our Cortex workspace?"
  • "Which scorecards do we have in Cortex?"
  • "How do our services score on the production-readiness scorecard in Cortex?"
  • "Which scorecards is payments-service failing in Cortex?"

What it does

  • list_entities: List catalog entities (services, resources, domains) with tag, type, description and last update; filter by type, group or a search query.
  • get_entity: Get one catalog entity: description, git repository, owners, links, Slack channels, custom metadata and hierarchy.
  • list_entity_types: List the custom and built-in entity type definitions beyond service, domain and team.
  • list_scorecards: List scorecards with description, draft flag, levels and last update.
  • get_scorecard_scores: Get the latest score of every entity in one scorecard.
  • get_entity_scorecards: Get an entity's score on each scorecard that applies to it.
  • list_teams: List teams (Cortex teams and identity-provider groups) with tag, type and linked catalog entity.
  • list_initiatives: List initiatives (time-boxed scorecard improvement campaigns) with target date, scorecard and draft flag.
  • list_entity_deployments: List recorded deployments of one entity (deploy, scale, rollback, restart) with environment, commit sha and time.
  • search_deployments: Search deployments across all entities, filtered by environment, type, entity and UTC time range.
  • list_workflows: List workflows (self-service automations) with description, draft flag, API-runnable flag and update time.
  • get_integration_status: List installed integrations with their alias, categories and the result of the latest connection check.

BYOK key

You bring your own Cortex Cortex API key (https://docs.cortex.io/api/readme). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to api.getcortexapp.com over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.

Data sources

Live from the Cortex API (api.getcortexapp.com) with a BYOK key; documentation: https://docs.cortex.io/api/readme. Endpoints checked against that documentation on 2026-10-16.

What it is not

Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Cortex. Cortex and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with. It is read-only: it never creates, changes, sends or deletes anything in your Cortex account.
