What Customer.io Design Studio (BYOK) is for

Customer.io Design Studio (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own Customer.io Design Studio data through the Customer.io Design Studio API with a key you supply (App API key (US region)). Read-only: 6 tools (list_design_folders, list_design_emails, list_design_sms, list_design_components, check_unpublished_changes, get_inbox_preview_credits). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to api.customer.io. Customer.io Design Studio and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with.

  • "How many inbox preview credits do I have left in Customer.io?"

What it does

  • list_design_folders: List Design Studio folders with id, name, parent folder and dates.
  • list_design_emails: List Design Studio emails with id, name, folder, template flag, translation flag, whether linked to a workflow, and dates. Email content is not returned.
  • list_design_sms: List Design Studio SMS designs with id, name, folder, whether linked to a workflow and dates. Message text is not returned.
  • list_design_components: List reusable email components with id, name, tag name, folder and dates.
  • check_unpublished_changes: Check whether a Design Studio email has unpublished changes.
  • get_inbox_preview_credits: Show the inbox preview credit balance: original and remaining credits, tier (free or paid) and expiry.

BYOK key

You bring your own Customer.io Design Studio App API key (US region) (https://docs.customer.io/integrations/api/app/). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to api.customer.io over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.
