What Customer.io (BYOK) is for

Customer.io (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own Customer.io data through the Customer.io API with a key you supply (App API key (US region)). Read-only: 11 tools (list_workspaces, list_automations, get_automation_metrics, list_broadcasts, get_broadcast_metrics, list_one_time_sends, get_one_time_send_metrics, list_segments, get_segment_customer_count, list_sender_identities, list_message_deliveries). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to api.customer.io.   • "Which Customer.io workspaces do I have and how many people are in each?"
  • "Which Customer.io automations are running?"
  • "How is my Customer.io welcome automation performing day by day?"
  • "What broadcasts do I have in Customer.io?"
  • "How did my Customer.io weekly digest broadcast do?"
  • "Which Customer.io newsletters did I send recently?"

What it does

  • list_workspaces: List the workspaces the key can see with message, people and object counts.
  • list_automations: List automations (campaigns) with name, state (running, draft, stopped), active flag, trigger type and dates (Unix seconds). Nothing is triggered.
  • get_automation_metrics: Get an automation's message metrics (sent, delivered, opened, clicked, bounced, unsubscribed and more) as a time series for a window.
  • list_broadcasts: List API-triggered broadcasts with name, state (running or draft), active flag and dates (Unix seconds). Nothing is triggered.
  • get_broadcast_metrics: Get a broadcast's message metrics (sent, delivered, opened, clicked, bounced, unsubscribed and more) as a time series.
  • list_one_time_sends: List one-time sends (newsletters) with name, type, send state (drafted, scheduled, sending, sent ...), scheduled and sent times (Unix seconds); page with a token. Never sends.
  • get_one_time_send_metrics: Get a one-time send's message metrics (sent, delivered, opened, clicked, bounced, unsubscribed and more) as a time series.
  • list_segments: List segments with name, type (dynamic or manual), state, description and dates (Unix seconds).
  • get_segment_customer_count: Get the number of people currently in a segment.
  • list_sender_identities: List sender identities (from name and email or phone) with their IDs.
  • list_message_deliveries: List message deliveries (one per message sent) with recipient, subject, type, parent automation or send, timestamps and delivery metrics. Filter by type, automation, one-time send or time window; page with a token.

BYOK key

You bring your own Customer.io App API key (US region) (https://docs.customer.io/integrations/api/app/). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to api.customer.io over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.
