What Dacast (BYOK) is for

Dacast (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own Dacast data through the Dacast API with a key you supply (Dacast API key (Scale or Custom plan)). Read-only: 9 tools (list_streams, get_stream, list_online_streams, list_videos, get_video, list_playlists, list_folders, get_account_analytics, get_content_analytics). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to developer.dacast.com. Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Dacast. Dacast and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with.

Ask your assistant things like:

  • "Which live channels do I have on Dacast?"
  • "Is my Dacast channel recording enabled?"
  • "Which Dacast channels are live right now?"
  • "Which videos are online in my Dacast account?"
  • "How big is my Dacast video and how long does it run?"
  • "What playlists do I have on Dacast?"

What it does

  • list_streams: List live channels with title, enabled flag and HLS URL; filter by title, enabled state or creation date. Max 100 per page.
  • get_stream: Get one live channel's title, description, enabled flag, creation and save dates, stream technology, recording and DVR flags and HLS URL. Ingest credentials are not returned.
  • list_online_streams: List the channels that are broadcasting right now, with the time each went online.
  • list_videos: List video-on-demand items with title, enabled flag, HLS URL, paywall flag and renditions; filter by title, state, date or source stream. Max 100 per page.
  • get_video: Get one video's title, description, duration, file name and size, dimensions, codecs, disk usage, dates, enabled flag and HLS URL.
  • list_playlists: List playlists with title, description and enabled flag; filter by title, state or creation date.
  • list_folders: List folders of the library with name, path and creation date; filter by name.
  • get_account_analytics: Account-wide analytics for a date range: bandwidth (bytes), plays (hits), impressions (visitors) or per-country and per-asset rows, depending on data_set.
  • get_content_analytics: Analytics for one video, channel or folder over a date range: bandwidth (bytes), plays (hits), impressions (visitors) or per-country rows, depending on data_set.

BYOK key

You bring your own Dacast Dacast API key (Scale or Custom plan) (https://docs.dacast.com/docs/obtain-api-keys). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to developer.dacast.com over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.

Data sources

Live from the Dacast API (developer.dacast.com) with a BYOK key; documentation: https://docs.dacast.com/reference/list-videos. Endpoints checked against that documentation on 2026-10-16.

What it is not

Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Dacast. Dacast and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with. It is read-only: it never creates, changes, sends or deletes anything in your Dacast account.
