What Databricks SQL (BYOK) is for
Databricks SQL (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own Databricks SQL data through the Databricks SQL API with a key you supply (personal access token). Read-only: 9 tools (get_sql_warehouse, list_queries, get_query, list_alerts, list_query_history, list_lakeview_dashboards, get_lakeview_dashboard, get_published_lakeview_dashboard, list_genie_spaces). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to *.cloud.databricks.com. Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Databricks SQL. Databricks SQL and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with.
Ask your assistant things like:
- "What size is Databricks SQL warehouse 1a2b3c4d5e6f7a8b and is it running?"
- "Which saved SQL queries exist in my Databricks workspace?"
- "Show the SQL of saved query 1a2b3c4d-0000-0000-0000-000000000000"
- "Which Databricks SQL alerts are currently triggered?"
- "Which queries failed on my Databricks SQL warehouses recently?"
- "Which AI/BI dashboards are in my Databricks workspace?"
What it does

The SQL text is not included here.get_query: Get one saved Databricks SQL query: name, description, SQL text, parameters, owner, warehouse and timestamps.list_alerts: List Databricks SQL alerts with name, condition, state, last trigger time, owner and linked query id.list_query_history: List recent SQL warehouse query executions, newest first, with status, user, warehouse, duration, rows produced, statement type and error message. Query text is not returned.list_lakeview_dashboards: List AI/BI (Lakeview) dashboards with name, workspace path, warehouse, lifecycle state and timestamps.get_lakeview_dashboard: Get one AI/BI (Lakeview) dashboard definition: name, path, warehouse, lifecycle state, timestamps and the serialized dashboard JSON (datasets, pages and widgets).get_published_lakeview_dashboard: Get the published version of an AI/BI dashboard: name, warehouse, whether credentials are embedded and the revision time.list_genie_spaces: List Genie spaces (natural-language data rooms) with title, description, warehouse and timestamps. Token paginated.
BYOK key
You bring your own Databricks SQL personal access token (https://docs.databricks.com/aws/en/dev-tools/auth/pat). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to *.cloud.databricks.com over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.
Data sources
- https://docs.databricks.com/api/workspace/introduction (the API this connector calls, with a BYOK key)
Live from the Databricks SQL API (*.cloud.databricks.com) with a BYOK key; documentation: https://docs.databricks.com/api/workspace/introduction. Endpoints checked against that documentation on 2026-10-16.
What it is not
