What Databricks Workspace (BYOK) is for
Databricks Workspace (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own Databricks Workspace data through the Databricks Workspace API with a key you supply (personal access token). Read-only: 12 tools (list_clusters, list_cluster_policies, list_jobs, list_job_runs, list_sql_warehouses, list_pipelines, list_catalogs, list_schemas, list_tables, list_workspace_objects, list_repos, list_serving_endpoints). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to *.cloud.databricks.com. Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Databricks Workspace. Databricks Workspace and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with.
Ask your assistant things like:
- "Which Databricks clusters are running?"
- "Which cluster policies exist in my Databricks workspace?"
- "Which scheduled jobs does my Databricks workspace have?"
- "Which Databricks job runs failed recently?"
- "Which SQL warehouses are running in Databricks?"
- "Which Databricks pipelines are failing?"
What it does
list_clusters: List all-purpose and job clusters of the workspace with state, Spark version, node type, worker count, auto-termination and creator. Cursor paginated.list_cluster_policies: List cluster policies with name, description, default flag, per-user cluster limit and creator; the policy definition JSON is not returned.list_jobs: List jobs with name, schedule, creator and creation time. Up to 100 per page, token paginated.list_job_runs: List job runs, newest first, with run name, job, lifecycle and result state, start and end time, duration and trigger. Up to 24 per page.list_sql_warehouses: List SQL warehouses with state, size, cluster limits, auto-stop minutes, type, serverless flag and active sessions.list_pipelines: List Lakeflow (Delta Live Tables) pipelines with state, health and creator. Up to 100 per page, token paginated.list_catalogs: List Unity Catalog catalogs with owner, comment, type and timestamps.list_schemas: List the Unity Catalog schemas of one catalog with owner, comment and timestamps.list_tables: List the tables and views of one Unity Catalog schema with type, format, owner, comment and timestamps. Column lists and view SQL are not requested.list_workspace_objects: List the notebooks, files and folders directly under a workspace path with type, language and modification time.list_repos: List Git folders (repos) with path, Git provider, URL, branch and head commit.list_serving_endpoints: List model serving endpoints with name, task, creator, readiness and timestamps.
BYOK key
You bring your own Databricks Workspace personal access token (https://docs.databricks.com/aws/en/dev-tools/auth/pat). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to *.cloud.databricks.com over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.
Data sources
