What Datafold (BYOK) is for

Datafold (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own Datafold data through the Datafold API with a key you supply (Datafold API key). Read-only: 11 tools (list_data_sources, get_data_source_summary, list_data_diffs, get_data_diff, list_monitors, get_monitor, list_monitor_runs, get_monitor_run, list_ci_runs, get_table_upstreams, get_table_downstreams). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to app.datafold.com. Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Datafold. Datafold and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with.

Ask your assistant things like:

  • "Which warehouses are connected to Datafold?"
  • "What is Datafold data source 1?"
  • "Which Datafold data diffs ran recently and did they find differences?"
  • "What did Datafold data diff 100 find?"
  • "Which Datafold monitors are failing?"
  • "Show details of Datafold monitor 5"

What it does

  • list_data_sources: List the data sources (warehouses and databases) connected to Datafold with id, name, type, paused and accessible flags. Connection options and secrets are not returned.
  • get_data_source_summary: Get a short summary of one data source: id, name and type.
  • list_data_diffs: List data diffs (comparisons of two tables or queries) newest first with status, result, tables, source and timing. Queries and filters are not returned.
  • get_data_diff: Get one data diff: status, result, tables, key columns, source, CI pull request details, timing and monitor link.
  • list_monitors: List data monitors (metric, data diff, schema change, data test) with type, state, enabled flag, owner, tags and last run or alert.
  • get_monitor: Get one monitor: name, description, type, state, schedule, owner, tags and last run or alert.
  • list_monitor_runs: List the runs of one monitor with state, start time and linked data diff.
  • get_monitor_run: Get one monitor run: state, start time, error and warnings.
  • list_ci_runs: List CI runs of a CI configuration with pull request number, branches, commit and status.
  • get_table_upstreams: List the upstream tables a table depends on, with their columns, down to a chosen depth.
  • get_table_downstreams: List the downstream tables and assets that depend on a table, with their columns, down to a chosen depth.

BYOK key

You bring your own Datafold Datafold API key (https://app.datafold.com/). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to app.datafold.com over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.

Data sources

Live from the Datafold API (app.datafold.com) with a BYOK key; documentation: https://docs.datafold.com/api-reference/introduction. Endpoints checked against that documentation on 2026-10-16.

What it is not

Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Datafold. Datafold and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with. It is read-only: it never creates, changes, sends or deletes anything in your Datafold account.
