What DeepL (BYOK) is for

DeepL (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own DeepL data through the DeepL API with a key you supply (DeepL API authentication key). Read-only: 10 tools (get_usage, list_languages, list_glossary_language_pairs, list_glossaries, get_glossary, get_glossary_entries, list_translation_memories, get_translation_memory, list_translation_memory_segments, list_style_rules). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to api.deepl.com, api-free.deepl.com. Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by DeepL. DeepL and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with.

Ask your assistant things like:

  • "How many DeepL characters have I used this month?"
  • "Which target languages does DeepL support?"
  • "Which language pairs can I use in a DeepL glossary?"
  • "Which glossaries do I have in DeepL?"
  • "Show details of DeepL glossary def3a26b"
  • "List the English to German entries of DeepL glossary def3a26b"

What it does

  • get_usage: Show characters (and speech minutes) used in the current billing period next to the account limits, plus document counts.
  • list_languages: List the languages DeepL supports as source or as target, with codes and names (target languages also say whether formality is supported).
  • list_glossary_language_pairs: List the source and target language pairs for which glossaries can be created.
  • list_glossaries: List all glossaries of the account with their language dictionaries and entry counts (without the entries themselves).
  • get_glossary: Get one glossary's name, creation time and language dictionaries with entry counts.
  • get_glossary_entries: Get the entries of one glossary for one language pair as tab-separated text (source term, tab, target term per line).
  • list_translation_memories: List translation memories with source and target languages, segment counts and update time.
  • get_translation_memory: Get one translation memory's languages, segment count and timestamps.
  • list_translation_memory_segments: List stored segments of a translation memory with source text and target translations, optionally filtered by text.
  • list_style_rules: List style rule lists (writing conventions applied to translations) with language and version.

BYOK key

You bring your own DeepL DeepL API authentication key (https://www.deepl.com/en/your-account/keys). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to api.deepl.com, api-free.deepl.com over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.

Data sources

Live from the DeepL API (api.deepl.com, api-free.deepl.com) with a BYOK key; documentation: https://developers.deepl.com/api-reference. Endpoints checked against that documentation on 2026-10-16.

What it is not

Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by DeepL. DeepL and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with. It is read-only: it never creates, changes, sends or deletes anything in your DeepL account.
