What Digital Ocean Droplets (BYOK) is for

Digital Ocean Droplets (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own Digital Ocean Droplets data through the Digital Ocean Droplets API with a key you supply (personal access token with Droplet read scope). Read-only: 11 tools (get_droplet, list_droplet_backups, list_droplet_snapshots, get_backup_policy, list_droplet_firewalls, list_droplet_neighbors, list_autoscale_pools, list_autoscale_members, list_autoscale_history, list_sizes, list_regions). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to api.digitalocean.com. Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Digital Ocean Droplets. Digital Ocean Droplets and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with.

Ask your assistant things like:

  • "What are the IP addresses and size of Droplet 3164444?"
  • "Does Droplet 3164444 have backups?"
  • "Which snapshots exist for Droplet 3164444?"
  • "When is the next backup of Droplet 3164444?"
  • "Which firewalls apply to Droplet 3164444?"
  • "Which Droplets share a host with Droplet 3164444?"

What it does

  • get_droplet: Get one Droplet: status, size, memory, CPUs, disk, region, image, tags, VPC, features, attached volumes and network addresses.
  • list_droplet_backups: List the backups of a Droplet with size, regions and creation time.
  • list_droplet_snapshots: List the snapshots of a Droplet with size, regions and creation time.
  • get_backup_policy: Get the backup policy of a Droplet: whether backups are enabled, the plan and the next backup window.
  • list_droplet_firewalls: List the Cloud Firewalls applied to a Droplet with their rules.
  • list_droplet_neighbors: List the Droplets that share a physical host with a Droplet (noisy-neighbor check) with name, status and size.
  • list_autoscale_pools: List Droplet autoscale pools with name, status and active Droplet count.
  • list_autoscale_members: List the Droplets of an autoscale pool with health status, state and utilization.
  • list_autoscale_history: List the scaling events of an autoscale pool: reason, current and desired instance count and status.
  • list_sizes: List Droplet sizes with slug, memory, CPUs, disk, transfer, monthly and hourly price in USD, and availability.
  • list_regions: List DigitalOcean regions with slug, name, features, availability and the Droplet sizes offered.

BYOK key

You bring your own Digital Ocean Droplets personal access token with Droplet read scope (https://cloud.digitalocean.com/account/api/tokens). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to api.digitalocean.com over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.

Data sources

Live from the Digital Ocean Droplets API (api.digitalocean.com) with a BYOK key; documentation: https://docs.digitalocean.com/reference/api/reference/droplets/. Endpoints checked against that documentation on 2026-10-16.

What it is not

Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Digital Ocean Droplets. Digital Ocean Droplets and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with. It is read-only: it never creates, changes, sends or deletes anything in your Digital Ocean Droplets account.
