What Digital Ocean Gradient AI (BYOK) is for

Digital Ocean Gradient AI (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own Digital Ocean Gradient AI data through the Digital Ocean Gradient AI API with a key you supply (personal access token with GenAI read scope). Read-only: 10 tools (list_agents, get_agent_usage, list_knowledge_bases, get_knowledge_base, list_knowledge_base_data_sources, list_indexing_jobs, list_models, search_model_catalog, list_genai_regions, list_workspaces). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to api.digitalocean.com. Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Digital Ocean Gradient AI. Digital Ocean Gradient AI and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with.

Ask your assistant things like:

  • "Which Gradient AI agents do I have and which are deployed?"
  • "How many tokens did my agent use last week?"
  • "Which knowledge bases do I have and when were they last indexed?"
  • "What is the indexing status of my knowledge base?"
  • "What data sources feed my knowledge base and did they index cleanly?"
  • "Did the latest knowledge base indexing job succeed?"

What it does

  • list_agents: List GenAI agents with name, region, model, deployment status and URL, retrieval settings and web access flags (prompt text is not returned).
  • get_agent_usage: Get token usage of one agent between two timestamps, split by usage type.
  • list_knowledge_bases: List knowledge bases with region, embedding model, reranking setting, tags and the status of the last indexing job.
  • get_knowledge_base: Get one knowledge base with region, embedding model, reranking, tags and the last indexing job.
  • list_knowledge_base_data_sources: List the data sources of a knowledge base with chunking settings and the result of each source's last indexing job.
  • list_indexing_jobs: List indexing jobs with phase, status, datasource counts, token counts and timing.
  • list_models: List foundation and fine-tuned models available to agents, with provider, type, lifecycle status, context window and per-million-token prices.
  • search_model_catalog: Search the model catalog by name with provider, type, context window, max output tokens and prices, sorted by name, price or date.
  • list_genai_regions: List the data center regions that serve Gradient AI inference or batch jobs, with their inference URLs.
  • list_workspaces: List GenAI workspaces with name, description, creation time and the agents and evaluation test cases they hold.

BYOK key

You bring your own Digital Ocean Gradient AI personal access token with GenAI read scope (https://cloud.digitalocean.com/account/api/tokens). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to api.digitalocean.com over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.

Data sources

Live from the Digital Ocean Gradient AI API (api.digitalocean.com) with a BYOK key; documentation: https://docs.digitalocean.com/reference/api/reference/gradient-platform/. Endpoints checked against that documentation on 2026-10-16.

What it is not

Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Digital Ocean Gradient AI. Digital Ocean Gradient AI and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with. It is read-only: it never creates, changes, sends or deletes anything in your Digital Ocean Gradient AI account.
