What Digital Ocean Storage (BYOK) is for
Digital Ocean Storage (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own Digital Ocean Storage data through the Digital Ocean Storage API with a key you supply (personal access token with block storage, image and snapshot read scope). Read-only: 10 tools (list_volumes, get_volume, list_volume_snapshots, list_snapshots, get_snapshot, list_images, get_image, list_nfs_shares, get_nfs_share, list_nfs_snapshots). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to api.digitalocean.com. Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Digital Ocean Storage. Digital Ocean Storage and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with.
Ask your assistant things like:
- "Which block storage volumes do I have and where are they attached?"
- "How big is volume 506f78a4 and which Droplet uses it?"
- "Which snapshots exist for volume 506f78a4?"
- "What snapshots do I have and how large are they?"
- "What is snapshot fbe805e8 of?"
- "Which custom images and snapshots can I create Droplets from?"
What it does
list_volumes: List block storage volumes with size, region, attached Droplets, filesystem type and tags.get_volume: Get one block storage volume.list_volume_snapshots: List the snapshots of one block storage volume.list_snapshots: List Droplet and volume snapshots with size, regions and source resource.get_snapshot: Get one snapshot by id.list_images: List images (distributions, applications, your snapshots and backups, custom images) with slug, regions, size and status.get_image: Get one image by id or slug.list_nfs_shares: List NFS shares in a region with size, status, performance tier and VPCs.get_nfs_share: Get one NFS share: size, status, performance tier, mount path and host.list_nfs_snapshots: List NFS share snapshots in a region, optionally for one share.
BYOK key
You bring your own Digital Ocean Storage personal access token with block storage, image and snapshot read scope (https://cloud.digitalocean.com/account/api/tokens). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to api.digitalocean.com over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.
