What Digital Ocean Uptime and Insights (BYOK) is for

Digital Ocean Uptime and Insights (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own Digital Ocean Uptime and Insights data through the Digital Ocean Uptime and Insights API with a key you supply (personal access token with monitoring read scope). Read-only: 7 tools (list_checks, get_check, get_check_state, list_check_alerts, get_check_alert, list_alert_rules, list_alert_instances). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to api.digitalocean.com. What it does

  • list_checks: List Uptime checks with name, type (ping, http, https), target, probe regions and enabled flag.
  • get_check: Get one Uptime check.
  • get_check_state: Get the current state of an Uptime check per region (UP, DOWN, CHECKING), status change time, 30-day uptime percent and the previous outage.
  • list_check_alerts: List the alerts of an Uptime check (latency, down, global down, SSL expiry) with threshold, comparison and period. Notification recipients are left out.
  • get_check_alert: Get one Uptime alert: type, threshold, comparison and period.
  • list_alert_rules: List Insights alert rules with status, specification and dates.
  • list_alert_instances: List Insights alert instances (firings) with rule, severity, status, resource, value and trigger and resolve times.

BYOK key

You bring your own Digital Ocean Uptime and Insights personal access token with monitoring read scope (https://cloud.digitalocean.com/account/api/tokens). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to api.digitalocean.com over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.
