What Discogs (BYOK) is for

Discogs (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own Discogs data through the Discogs API with a key you supply (personal access token). Read-only: 9 tools (search_database, get_release, get_release_stats, get_master, list_master_versions, get_artist, list_artist_releases, get_label, list_label_releases). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to api.discogs.com. Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Discogs. Discogs and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with.

Ask your assistant things like:

  • "Find the Discogs release of Kind of Blue by Miles Davis"
  • "Show the track list of Discogs release 249504"
  • "How many Discogs users own release 249504?"
  • "What is the main release of Discogs master 1000?"
  • "Which pressings of Discogs master 1000 were released on vinyl?"
  • "Who are the members of the Discogs artist 108713?"

What it does

  • search_database: Search the Discogs database of releases, masters, artists and labels by free text or by fields such as artist, title, label, year, genre and barcode. Returns id, type, title, year, country, formats, labels and community have/want counts.
  • get_release: Get one Discogs release: title, artists, labels and catalogue numbers, formats, genres, styles, track list, community rating, copies for sale and lowest price.
  • get_release_stats: Get how many Discogs users have and want a release.
  • get_master: Get a Discogs master release (the canonical album across all its pressings): title, year, artists, genres, styles, track list, main release id and copies for sale.
  • list_master_versions: List the pressings and versions of a Discogs master release with label, catalogue number, format, country, release year and how many users own or want each.
  • get_artist: Get a Discogs artist: profile text, name variations, links, band members and the link to their releases.
  • list_artist_releases: List an artist's releases and masters on Discogs with role, year, format and label, sortable by year, title or format.
  • get_label: Get a Discogs record label: profile text, contact info, links and sub-labels.
  • list_label_releases: List the releases of a Discogs label with artist, catalogue number, format and year.

BYOK key

You bring your own Discogs personal access token (https://www.discogs.com/settings/developers). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to api.discogs.com over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.

Data sources

Live from the Discogs API (api.discogs.com) with a BYOK key; documentation: https://www.discogs.com/developers. Endpoints checked against that documentation on 2026-10-16.

What it is not

Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Discogs. Discogs and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with. It is read-only: it never creates, changes, sends or deletes anything in your Discogs account.
