What ERPNext Stock Catalog (BYOK) is for

ERPNext Stock Catalog (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own ERPNext Stock Catalog data through the ERPNext Stock Catalog API with a key you supply (API key and API secret joined by a colon, as api_key:api_secret). Read-only: 10 tools (list_items, list_item_groups, list_price_lists, list_item_prices, list_units_of_measure, list_warehouses, list_brands, list_customer_groups, list_supplier_groups, list_territories). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to *.frappe.cloud. Ask your assistant things like:

  • "Which items are in my ERPNext catalog?"
  • "How are my ERPNext items grouped?"
  • "What price lists exist in ERPNext?"
  • "What is the price of each item in the Standard Selling list in ERPNext?"
  • "Which units of measure are enabled in ERPNext?"
  • "What warehouses does my ERPNext have?"

What it does

  • list_items: List items (DocType Item) with code, name, item group, stock unit, brand, stock, sales and purchase flags, standard rate, valuation rate and disabled flag.
  • list_item_groups: List item groups (DocType Item Group) with name, parent group and group flag.
  • list_price_lists: List price lists (DocType Price List) with name, currency, buying and selling flags and enabled flag.
  • list_item_prices: List item prices (DocType Item Price) with item code and name, price list, currency, rate, unit, validity dates and buying and selling flags.
  • list_units_of_measure: List units of measure (DocType UOM) with name, symbol, whole-number rule and enabled flag.
  • list_warehouses: List warehouses (DocType Warehouse) with name, company, parent warehouse, warehouse type, city and group and disabled flags. Contact phone and email are not requested.
  • list_brands: List brands (DocType Brand) with name and description.
  • list_customer_groups: List customer groups (DocType Customer Group) with name, parent, default price list, payment terms and group flag. Individual customers are not listed.
  • list_supplier_groups: List supplier groups (DocType Supplier Group) with name, parent, payment terms and group flag. Individual suppliers are not listed.
  • list_territories: List sales territories (DocType Territory) with name, parent and group flag.

BYOK key

You bring your own ERPNext Stock Catalog API key and API secret joined by a colon, as api_key:api_secret (https://docs.frappe.io/framework/user/en/api/rest). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to *.frappe.cloud over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.
