What Exchangeratesapi (BYOK) is for
Exchangeratesapi (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own Exchangeratesapi data through the Exchangeratesapi API with a key you supply (access key). Read-only: 6 tools (list_currency_symbols, get_latest_rates, get_historical_rates, convert_currency, get_time_series, get_fluctuation). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to api.exchangeratesapi.io. Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Exchangeratesapi. Exchangeratesapi and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with.
Ask your assistant things like:
- "Which currencies does Exchangeratesapi support?"
- "What are the latest EUR to USD, GBP and JPY exchange rates?"
- "What was the EUR to USD rate on 2024-12-24?"
- "How much is 250 GBP in JPY today?"
- "How did EUR to USD move day by day in January 2026?"
- "How much did EUR to USD change during January 2026?"
What it does
list_currency_symbols: List the currency codes the service supports with their full names, as a code-to-name map.get_latest_rates: Get the latest exchange rates against a base currency (EUR by default), optionally limited to some currencies, with the time the rates were collected.get_historical_rates: Get the exchange rates of one past day (data goes back to 1999), optionally limited to some currencies.convert_currency: Convert an amount from one currency to another at the latest rate, or at a past day's rate when a date is given. Availability depends on the plan.get_time_series: Get daily exchange rates between two dates (at most 365 days apart) for a base currency, optionally for some currencies. Needs a plan that includes time series.get_fluctuation: Get how each currency's rate changed between two dates (at most 365 days apart): start rate, end rate, change and percent change. Needs a plan that includes fluctuation data.
BYOK key
You bring your own Exchangeratesapi access key (https://exchangeratesapi.io/pricing/). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to api.exchangeratesapi.io over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.
