What Fastly (BYOK) is for

Fastly (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own Fastly data through the Fastly API with a key you supply (API token (read scope is enough)). Read-only: 9 tools (list_services, search_service, get_service_details, list_versions, list_domains, list_backends, get_service_stats, get_account_usage_by_service, get_current_customer). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to api.fastly.com. Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Fastly. Fastly and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with.

Ask your assistant things like:

  • "Which Fastly services do I have?"
  • "Find the Fastly service called www.example.com"
  • "What domains and backends does Fastly service SU1Z0isxPaozGVKXdv0eY use?"
  • "Which version of Fastly service SU1Z0isxPaozGVKXdv0eY is active?"
  • "Which domains are on Fastly service SU1Z0isxPaozGVKXdv0eY?"
  • "What origin servers does Fastly service SU1Z0isxPaozGVKXdv0eY use?"

What it does

  • list_services: List the Fastly services of the account with name, type (vcl or wasm), comment, paused flag and dates.
  • search_service: Find one Fastly service by its exact name.
  • get_service_details: Get one service with its active (or a chosen) version: the number, domains and backends configured on it.
  • list_versions: List the configuration versions of a service with number, active and locked flags, comment and dates.
  • list_domains: List the domains configured on one version of a service.
  • list_backends: List the origin servers (backends) of one version of a service with address, port, TLS and timeout settings.
  • get_service_stats: Get historical delivery statistics of one service per hour, minute or day: requests, hits, misses, hit ratio, bandwidth and status code counts. Hourly data goes back 375 days, minutely 35 days.
  • get_account_usage_by_service: Get usage information aggregated by service and region for the account over a time range (the answer is returned as Fastly sends it).
  • get_current_customer: Show the Fastly customer account the token belongs to: name, pricing plan and whether 2FA or SSO is enforced.

BYOK key

You bring your own Fastly API token (read scope is enough) (https://www.fastly.com/documentation/guides/organizations-and-accounts/account-members-and-permissions/managing-account-level-api-tokens). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to api.fastly.com over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.

Data sources

Live from the Fastly API (api.fastly.com) with a BYOK key; documentation: https://www.fastly.com/documentation/reference/api/. Endpoints checked against that documentation on 2026-10-16.

What it is not

Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Fastly. Fastly and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with. It is read-only: it never creates, changes, sends or deletes anything in your Fastly account.
