What finlight (BYOK) is for

finlight (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own finlight data through the finlight API with a key you supply (finlight API key). Read-only: 6 tools (search_articles, search_articles_by_ticker, search_articles_by_category, search_articles_by_source, get_article_by_link, list_sources). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to api.finlight.me.   • "What is the latest financial news about Nvidia?"
  • "What news mentions the ticker AAPL?"
  • "Show me the latest crypto news"
  • "What did www.reuters.com publish recently?"
  • "Look up the finlight record for this article URL"
  • "Which news sources does finlight cover?"

What it does

  • search_articles: Search financial news articles by keywords (with AND, OR, NOT) and optional filters for date range and language. Returns link, source, title, summary, publish date, sentiment with confidence, categories and countries. Counts against the monthly request quota.
  • search_articles_by_ticker: List financial news articles that mention one stock ticker, newest first, with sentiment and categories.
  • search_articles_by_category: List financial news articles in one category such as markets, economy, crypto, energy or regulation, newest first.
  • search_articles_by_source: List financial news articles from one publisher domain (see list_sources), newest first.
  • get_article_by_link: Get one indexed financial news article by its URL, with source, title, summary, sentiment, categories and countries.
  • list_sources: List the publishers finlight supports, with origin country, languages and whether each is in the default source set.

BYOK key

You bring your own finlight finlight API key (https://app.finlight.me). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to api.finlight.me over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.
