What Fleet Device Management (BYOK) is for

Fleet Device Management (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own Fleet Device Management data through the Fleet Device Management API with a key you supply (Fleet API token (an API-only user with the observer role is enough)). Read-only: 10 tools (get_version, get_host_summary, list_hosts, count_hosts, get_host, list_labels, list_policies, list_software_titles, list_os_versions, list_vulnerabilities). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to *.cloud.fleetdm.com. Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Fleet Device Management. Fleet Device Management and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with.

Ask your assistant things like:

  • "Which Fleet version is my server running?"
  • "How many Fleet hosts are online right now?"
  • "Which Fleet hosts are offline?"
  • "How many Fleet hosts match 'macbook'?"
  • "Show Fleet host 121"
  • "Which labels do my Fleet hosts have?"

What it does

  • get_version: Show the Fleet server version, branch, revision and build date.
  • get_host_summary: Count hosts by status (online, offline, missing for 30 days, new) and by platform.
  • list_hosts: List enrolled hosts with name, platform, OS version, status, hardware model, last seen time and disk space. Users, software and policies are not requested.
  • count_hosts: Count hosts matching a status, search text or label.
  • get_host: Get one host by id: platform, OS, hardware, status, last seen, disk space and network address. Users and software are not requested.
  • list_labels: List host labels (built-in and custom) with name, description, membership type and host count.
  • list_policies: List global compliance policies with name, description, platform, criticality and passing and failing host counts. Policy SQL and author contact are not returned.
  • list_software_titles: List installed software titles with host counts and version counts; can show only vulnerable software.
  • list_os_versions: List operating system versions in use with platform, host count and vulnerability count.
  • list_vulnerabilities: List detected vulnerabilities (CVEs) with the number of affected hosts and a link to details; CVSS score and exploit flags need Fleet Premium.

BYOK key

You bring your own Fleet Device Management Fleet API token (an API-only user with the observer role is enough) (https://fleetdm.com/docs/using-fleet/fleetctl-cli#using-fleetctl-with-an-api-only-user). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to *.cloud.fleetdm.com over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.

Data sources

Live from the Fleet Device Management API (*.cloud.fleetdm.com) with a BYOK key; documentation: https://fleetdm.com/docs/rest-api/rest-api. Endpoints checked against that documentation on 2026-10-16.

What it is not

Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Fleet Device Management. Fleet Device Management and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with. It is read-only: it never creates, changes, sends or deletes anything in your Fleet Device Management account.
