What Flexport (BYOK) is for

Flexport (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own Flexport data through the Flexport API with a key you supply (Flexport API key). Read-only: 12 tools (list_shipments, get_shipment, list_shipment_legs, list_ocean_containers, list_bookings, list_purchase_orders, list_products, list_invoices, list_commercial_invoices, list_customs_entries, list_ports, get_my_company). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to api.flexport.com.   • "Show Flexport shipment 2983 with its dates and bill numbers."
  • "What route legs does Flexport shipment 2983 have?"
  • "When is the last free day for container BWSE3982156?"
  • "Which Flexport bookings have a cargo ready date after 1 June 2026?"
  • "Which of my Flexport purchase orders are still open?"

What it does

  • list_shipments: List freight shipments of your Flexport account, newest first, with mode, status, dates, weights and parties. Filters combine; full records are returned (large), so keep pages small.
  • get_shipment: Get one shipment by id: mode, status, planned and actual dates, weight and volume, incoterm, bills of lading and the parties involved.
  • list_shipment_legs: List route legs (origin, destination, carrier, planned and actual dates) of one shipment or of all shipments.
  • list_ocean_containers: List ocean containers, newest first, with container number, size, type, seal and pickup, delivery and last free day dates.
  • list_bookings: List freight bookings with shipper, consignee, cargo ready and delivery dates, special instructions and quote status.
  • list_purchase_orders: List purchase orders with buyer, seller, incoterm, mode, ports, key dates and status filters (open, closed, cancelled).
  • list_products: List catalog products with SKU, country of origin, category, HS codes and classifications.
  • list_invoices: List freight and brokerage invoices with status, due date, totals, balance and issuer; filter by status or shipment.
  • list_commercial_invoices: List commercial invoices (supplier invoices used for customs) with invoice number, digitization status, totals and line items.
  • list_customs_entries: List customs entries with entry number, release status and release date, optionally for one shipment.
  • list_ports: Look up ports and airports known to Flexport (name, address, details) by type or UN/LOCODE.
  • get_my_company: Show the Flexport network company that owns the API key, with its entities, locations and contacts counts.

BYOK key

You bring your own Flexport Flexport API key (https://app.flexport.com/account_settings/api). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to api.flexport.com over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.
