What Front Knowledge Base (BYOK) is for

Front Knowledge Base (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own Front Knowledge Base data through the Front Knowledge Base API with a key you supply (API token). Read-only: 7 tools (list_knowledge_bases, get_knowledge_base, list_knowledge_base_categories, list_knowledge_base_articles, get_knowledge_base_category, list_category_articles, get_knowledge_base_article). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to api2.frontapp.com. What it does

  • list_knowledge_bases: List knowledge bases with type (internal or external), locales and dates.
  • get_knowledge_base: Get one knowledge base by id: type, locales and dates.
  • list_knowledge_base_categories: List the categories of a knowledge base with slug, hidden flag, locales and dates.
  • list_knowledge_base_articles: List the articles of a knowledge base with slug, locales and dates. Article text is not returned.
  • get_knowledge_base_category: Get one knowledge base category by id: slug, hidden flag, locales and dates.
  • list_category_articles: List the articles in one category with slug, locales and dates. Article text is not returned.
  • get_knowledge_base_article: Get one article by id: slug, locales and dates. The article text is not returned.

BYOK key

You bring your own Front Knowledge Base API token (https://dev.frontapp.com/docs/create-and-revoke-api-tokens). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to api2.frontapp.com over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.
