What Front Templates and Views (BYOK) is for

Front Templates and Views (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own Front Templates and Views data through the Front Templates and Views API with a key you supply (API token). Read-only: 9 tools (list_message_templates, get_message_template, get_template_folder, list_folder_subfolders, list_folder_templates, list_views, get_view, list_contact_lists, list_contact_groups). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to api2.frontapp.com. Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Front Templates and Views. Front Templates and Views and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with.

Ask your assistant things like:

  • "Which message templates exist in Front?"
  • "What does Front message template rsp_16yc say?"
  • "What is Front template folder rsf_g2?"
  • "Which subfolders does Front template folder rsf_g2 have?"
  • "Which templates are in Front template folder rsf_g2?"
  • "Which shared views are set up in Front?"

What it does

  • list_message_templates: List message templates (canned replies) with name, subject and the inboxes they are available in. Template bodies are not returned.
  • get_message_template: Get one message template by id with name, subject, body text and inbox availability.
  • get_template_folder: Get one message template folder by id: name and dates.
  • list_folder_subfolders: List the child folders of a message template folder.
  • list_folder_templates: List the templates inside a message template folder (the API returns id, name and dates for each).
  • list_views: List the workspace's shared views with name, highlight color and the inbox, tag and assignee ids that define each view.
  • get_view: Get one view by id with its inbox, tag and assignee filters.
  • list_contact_lists: List contact lists with name and whether each is private. Contacts themselves are not returned.
  • list_contact_groups: List contact groups with name and whether each is private. Contacts themselves are not returned.

BYOK key

You bring your own Front Templates and Views API token (https://dev.frontapp.com/docs/create-and-revoke-api-tokens). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to api2.frontapp.com over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.

Data sources

Live from the Front Templates and Views API (api2.frontapp.com) with a BYOK key; documentation: https://dev.frontapp.com/reference/list-message-templates. Endpoints checked against that documentation on 2026-10-16.

What it is not

Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Front Templates and Views. Front Templates and Views and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with. It is read-only: it never creates, changes, sends or deletes anything in your Front Templates and Views account.
