What Front Workspace (BYOK) is for

Front Workspace (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own Front Workspace data through the Front Workspace API with a key you supply (API token). Read-only: 12 tools (list_teams, get_team, list_teammate_groups, list_rules, get_rule, list_shifts, list_ticket_statuses, list_company_tags, list_conversation_custom_fields, list_contact_custom_fields, list_inbox_custom_fields, list_message_template_folders). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to api2.frontapp.com. Ask your assistant things like:

  • "What teams are there in our Front workspace?"
  • "Which inboxes does Front team tim_1 own?"
  • "Which teammate groups exist in Front?"
  • "What automation rules are set up in Front?"
  • "Is Front rule rul_1 private?"
  • "What shifts are defined in Front?"

What it does

  • list_teams: List the teams in the workspace with id and name.
  • get_team: Get one team by id: its name and the inboxes it owns (id, name, private or public). Member emails are not returned.
  • list_teammate_groups: List teammate groups with name, description, whether SCIM manages them and their contact access permissions.
  • list_rules: List the workspace's shared automation rules with id, name and private flag. Rule actions are not returned.
  • get_rule: Get one rule by id: its name and whether it is private. Rule actions are not returned.
  • list_shifts: List shifts (working schedules) with name, colour, time zone, weekly start and end times and dates.
  • list_ticket_statuses: List the company's ticket statuses with name, category (open, waiting, resolved), description and dates.
  • list_company_tags: List workspace-wide tags with name, description, colour, private flag and dates.
  • list_conversation_custom_fields: List the custom fields defined for conversations with name, type and allowed values for enum fields.
  • list_contact_custom_fields: List the custom fields defined for contacts with name, type and allowed values for enum fields. Definitions only, no contact data.
  • list_inbox_custom_fields: List the custom fields defined for inboxes with name, type and allowed values.
  • list_message_template_folders: List the shared message template folders with id, name and dates. Template text is not returned.

BYOK key

You bring your own Front Workspace API token (https://dev.frontapp.com/docs/create-and-revoke-api-tokens). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to api2.frontapp.com over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.
