What Front (BYOK) is for

Front (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own Front data through the Front API with a key you supply (API token). Read-only: 10 tools (list_conversations, search_conversations, get_conversation, list_conversation_messages, list_inbox_conversations, list_inboxes, list_contacts, list_tags, list_teammates, list_channels). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to api2.frontapp.com. Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Front. Front and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with.

Ask your assistant things like:

  • "What conversations are unassigned in Front?"
  • "Find Front conversations from fry@example.com that are open"
  • "Show Front conversation cnv_123"
  • "What messages are in Front conversation cnv_123?"
  • "What is in my Front inbox inb_123?"
  • "What inboxes do we have in Front?"

What it does

  • list_conversations: List conversations across the inboxes the token can see, with subject, status, assignee, recipient, tags and times (Unix seconds). Filter by status.
  • search_conversations: Search conversations by text and filters such as inbox:inb_x, tag:tag_x, from:email, assignee:tea_x, is:open or is:unassigned, after:unixtime; filters combine with AND.
  • get_conversation: Get one conversation by id with subject, status, assignee, recipient, tags, links and timestamps.
  • list_conversation_messages: List the messages of one conversation with author, direction, recipients, subject, short preview, text body and attachment names.
  • list_inbox_conversations: List the conversations of one inbox, optionally by status, with subject, assignee, recipient and tags.
  • list_inboxes: List the inboxes of the company that the token can see, with id, name and whether they are private or public.
  • list_contacts: List contacts with name, description, handles (emails, phones), groups and private flag; filter by update time.
  • list_tags: List tags with id, name, description, color highlight and whether private.
  • list_teammates: List teammates of the company with id, email, name, role flags and availability.
  • list_channels: List channels (connected email addresses, chats, social accounts) with id, name, address, type and validity.

BYOK key

You bring your own Front API token (https://dev.frontapp.com/docs/create-and-revoke-api-tokens). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to api2.frontapp.com over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.

Data sources

Live from the Front API (api2.frontapp.com) with a BYOK key; documentation: https://dev.frontapp.com/reference/introduction. Endpoints checked against that documentation on 2026-10-16.

What it is not

Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Front. Front and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with. It is read-only: it never creates, changes, sends or deletes anything in your Front account.
