What Game Brain (BYOK) is for

Game Brain (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own Game Brain data through the Game Brain API with a key you supply (Game Brain API key). Read-only: 5 tools (search_games, suggest_games, get_game, list_similar_games, list_game_news). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to api.gamebrain.co. Game Brain and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with.

  • "Find medieval strategy games for PC, best rated first"
  • "Which games match 'kingdom co'?"
  • "Give me the details of Game Brain game 1273796"
  • "What games are similar to game 33313?"
  • "What is the latest news about game 1261640?"

What it does

  • search_games: Search over 800,000 video games with a natural-language query and optional filters, returning name, year, genre, rating, platforms and a short description. Costs one quota token per started block of 10 results.
  • suggest_games: Autocomplete game titles from a partial name such as 'kingdom co'. Cheap lookup (0.1 quota token) for finding a game id.
  • get_game: Get full details for one game: description, release date, developer, ratings from players and critics, playtime, platforms, genres, themes, play modes, screenshots and videos.
  • list_similar_games: Find games similar to a given game, ranked by vector similarity of how people talk about them. Costs one quota token per started block of 10 results.
  • list_game_news: List news articles and tutorials that mention a game: title, link, source site, image and publish date. Costs one quota token.

BYOK key

You bring your own Game Brain Game Brain API key (https://gamebrain.co/api/docs/quickstart). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to api.gamebrain.co over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.
