What DX (BYOK) is for

DX (BYOK) lets an AI assistant read your own DX data through the DX API with a key you supply (DX organization token or personal access token). Read-only: 12 tools (list_entities, get_entity, list_entity_types, get_entity_type, list_relations, list_entity_relations, get_entity_scorecards, list_scorecards, get_scorecard, list_initiatives, get_initiative, list_workflows). The BYOK key travels with each request, is used for that one call only and is never stored, logged or cached; it is only ever sent to api.getdx.com. Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by DX. DX and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with.

Ask your assistant things like:

  • "Which services are in our DX catalog?"
  • "Show the payment-processing entity in the DX catalog"
  • "Which entity types does our DX catalog define?"
  • "What properties does the 'service' entity type have in DX?"
  • "Which relation types exist in our DX catalog?"
  • "What does payments-service depend on in DX?"

What it does

  • list_entities: List software catalog entities (services, packages, teams and other types you define) with type, description, owning teams, properties and repository aliases.
  • get_entity: Get one catalog entity by identifier: type, name, description, owning teams, properties and aliases.
  • list_entity_types: List the catalog entity types with their property definitions and which repository aliases they accept.
  • get_entity_type: Get one catalog entity type with its icon, property definitions and alias settings.
  • list_relations: List the relation definitions of the catalog, for example 'service depends on service', with direction labels and cardinality.
  • list_entity_relations: List the entities that are related to one entity through one relation definition, for example everything a service depends on.
  • get_entity_scorecards: Get how one catalog entity does on each scorecard: current level and every check with its pass or fail result and last run time.
  • list_scorecards: List scorecards with type, levels, tags, the entity types they apply to and their checks (with the check logic). Names and e-mails of editors and admins are not returned.
  • get_scorecard: Get one scorecard with its levels, tags and checks. Names and e-mails of editors and admins are not returned.
  • list_initiatives: List initiatives (time-boxed pushes to pass scorecard checks) with priority, due date, progress and remaining effort. The owner is not returned.
  • get_initiative: Get one initiative with its scorecard, priority, due date, progress and remaining effort. The owner is not returned.
  • list_workflows: List the workflows (self-service actions) the token may trigger, with scope, trigger type and input parameters.

BYOK key

You bring your own DX DX organization token or personal access token (https://docs.getdx.com/webapi/overview/). Your assistant sends it in the X-Upstream-Key header with each request. ConnectorBay uses it for that one call only: it is never stored, logged or cached, never shown in an answer, and it is only sent to api.getdx.com over https, with no redirects followed. Create a key with the fewest permissions the tools need (read-only if the provider offers it), and revoke it at the provider whenever you like.

Data sources

Live from the DX API (api.getdx.com) with a BYOK key; documentation: https://docs.getdx.com/webapi/overview/. Endpoints checked against that documentation on 2026-10-16.

What it is not

Unofficial connector by Unify Dynamics LLC: not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by DX. DX and its logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to say which service the connector works with. It is read-only: it never creates, changes, sends or deletes anything in your DX account.
